3M 048011-18730 3M-18730 Roloc Bristle Disc Grade-50, Size-2, Green

Used it to clean gasket surface from an engine. Reviews here say its good, Youtube channels recommend it, so I gave it a try. Cleaned everything off, metal looked and felt smooth to the touch, rebuilt the engine with a compression of 5-10 psi. Thats it. Engine is toast. Everything is torqued to spec, head gasket and head bolts are new. This isnt even my first rebuild, I thought Id save some time using this method rather than the method of soaking in solvent, waiting, repeat process.

Misleading listing as your choices are a 2 or a 4 pack or discs. The impression is a choice of 2 discs or 4 discs when in reality it is one 2 inch disc or a 4 pack or discs (also 2 inch).

Purchased this product to remove paint from a fireplace mantel that has fluted columns and decorative ornate wood work. Does a fair job on flat surface to clean the wood or remove very small semi loss particles of paint. If you are expecting this to actually remove the paint as a sanding pad or wire brush would, it does not. I would not recommend the purchase of this item if the intent is to remove paint.

The green 3M bristle disc removes paint and rust quick and doesnt mar the surface. They are a little overpriced but work way better than the imported - no name brands.

Works well for removing automotive finishes and metal finishing!
