> 24 hourThese discs have a plastic backing instead of a metal heat shield. The sander heats up due to friction while sanding and the plastic backing melts allowing the screws to pull through the holes and the whole velcro disc goes flying off while in use (not just the sanding disc). I thought the 1st one was just a fluke so I installed a new one with the same results. I am returning these and purchasing some with a metal back. These are junk and dangerous.

> 24 hourThe pads purchased fit perfectly on my sander. After a year the original pad had worn down and paper wasn’t staying attached.

> 24 hourThis product is not hooks like the OEM part, I cant say if it would have lasted longer or not. Both of these pads lasted about 5 minutes before the sander went out of balance. The pad is held on by four coarse screws that go into plastic and I did not want to over tighten. The first pad went out of balance so I took the pad off and reinstalled and tightened the screws more. The sander made an unexpected noise when I turned it back on. I thought I must have over tightened the first pad, so I put the second pad on very carefully to see that the screws held the pad uniformly. It did not last long before it went out of balance again. The bearing end cap and bearing retainer, both plastic parts, were also destroyed in the process. $5 in parts and $10 in shipping, plus the $20 for these pads make it a $35 mess. Seems to be a poor design from Dewalt. I just ordered an OEM pad, wish me luck. Tom

> 24 hourIm impressed, very nice compared to the original or even the last one I purchased from home depot, I had to basically pry the disc off it adhered so well. & cant beat the price, I paid $20 for the Dewalt brand hook & loop I purchased from home depot & it didnt even last a full yr. I can tell these will last awhile & I do wood working all day, every day. Literally took 2mins to take off the old pad & put on this new pad, very satisfied, thank you very much
