They appear made of plasticky materials with sturdy metal spring. The springs are coated the same color as the clips which is nice! They are easy to place and use. They have strong hinges that securely holds my hair and keeps my hair in place and up. They are great for a variety of hair styles - quick updos, buns, waterfall style, and more. They help keep my hair out of my face when I wash my face as well. The clips come well packaged and individually wrapped. Nice everyday use hair piece, recommend!
