> 3 dayWhy a company would lock the bios from the user and require physical modification to the chip is beyond me. Cant dual boot this machine as I would have to take it into a repair facility because Acer for some reason doesnt think that the community cant take care of their own devices. I wont be purchasing an Acer again.

> 3 daySo far so good! I do a lot of gaming as well as online streaming... so far the computer has managed to keep up with me without any issues... the fans that folks complain about are honestly not that loud.. I enjoy this laptop a lot..

> 3 dayI Had a little issue with the killer wifi being installed, so I had to delete all the wifi drivers and reset then connect to and LAN redownload and it has worked great. Also, in order to get the RGB keyboard instead of just the blue when it first turns on need to go into the predator software and go to lighting and Walla.

> 3 dayReceived this product yesterday, its a GREAT laptop for the price, funs all games Ive thrown at it at max settings and doesnt overheat. Speakers are kind of meh but I hook up a pair of external ones anyway. My one complaint is the laptop I received has the tiniest sliver of dead pixels at the bottom of the screen right along the bezzle (only maybe a 1/2 inch in length). Its not noticeable unless whatevers on the screen is black.

> 3 dayThey dont make things like they used to is the old adage that applies well to the Acer Predator Helios. My previous laptop (a Dell) was well built by comparison. There were no hardware issues for years. Then I bought the Predator Helios. To be sure, its fast and colorful - but its cheaply built. Within a few months the keyboard key symbols started to scratch off. Now the right fan buzzes and needs to be replaced. Sure, I could send it off to the Acer support center for repair, but I only have one computer, this laptop - I just need to live with it and watch this thing rapidly fall apart, unfortunately.

> 3 dayNeeds to be plugged in to run any game with decent quality. Once it is plugged in, the laptop usually will overheat and shut down and restart. This problem even persists WITH the use of external fans. Unfortunately it is impossible to play anything without your device being plugged in or it will drain the battery completely in less than an hour. I was really excited for this laptop and apparently even my 1 year warranty cannot help me out with this issue. The sad truth is to enjoy anything fun you need to waste your money on problems that shouldnt exist in my opinion. It was a good laptop for a little under a year though. What prompted my review is it overheating on me 3 times within a span of 40 minutes. Im very disappointed in myself for not researching further before choosing this device.

> 3 dayIt looks good. I mainly bought it in order to edit/ create 3d graphics for film. I guess I was so caught up in the appearance that I forgot to read the fine detail. I did not realize it does not come with a 3D Blu Ray or HD Blu Ray drive. So, it makes it impossible to burn 3D elements on to a Blu Ray DVD. So, I am searching for a laptop that has more than the capability to view 3D elements via streaming only.

Greater than one weekFor what it is, this laptop is a pretty good and relatively cheap gaming laptop. However, I have had my laptop repaired once and die twice in the span of 3 months.
