Amazon Basics Clear Bubble Umbrella - City

The ad says that the umbrella has automatic open and close, but it is not. It has simple hook and spring to open it when you press the button and disengage the hook. For closing, there is nothing automatic - you reach up and pull against the spring until the hook engages. The umbrella is lightweight. it is pretty small. I like how they covered the tips of spokes with plastic. The spokes feel substantial. The handle is thick and easy to hold. I ordered the completely clear option. it is all white with clear canopy. it is quite ok.

This is a great quality umbrella. It opens and closes easily and protects you well from the rain. The stars are so cute too!

Oh what a pretty umbrella was what my wife said when I opened the box. It is good looking (for an umbrella) with bright colors for a dark, rainy day. It opens quickly with the touch of a button to its full 35 inch size. It closes easily. It seems well made, the ribs are some kind of plastic or fiber glass but dont seem flimsy. The umbrella skin is a transparent plastic. Time will tell how well it holds up under use. I havent tested it under windy, rainy conditions yet but if appearances matter it looks like it will do ok.

Clear plastic umbrella is a handy size at 34 wide which is large enough to keep the rain off but small enough to fit through a crowded city street. Quick one-hand auto-open via the push button near the handle makes it much easier to use, especially when carrying packages, handbag, and a tote. The clear cover has a cute Parisian theme print with the Eiffel Tower, diamonds, hearts, and red lips in shades of red, black, and blue. The umbrella has a thick plastic handle that is comfortable to hold. It also has a blunt plastic cover over the tip and larger plastic covers at the ends of the ribs which are nice safety features that would make this safer for children to use. The only thing I wasnt impressed with was the thickness of the vinyl covering. It is rather thin and about the same thickness as a zip lock storage type bag....the storage variety, not the freezer bags. I deducted a star for the thinness of the covering.

Stylish transparent umbrella with French pattern. Its big enough to cover you completely from the rain, including your shoulders. The umbrella is made of fairly light material, so Im not sure that it will help in strong winds. But as a stylish accessory in light rain is just fine.

This bubble umbrella is fine and works well, and really does deserve the basic name. It has a nice automatic open feature and is easy to close. The entire umbrella is very light weight and the plastic handle is a nice large hook as one would expect from a bubble umbrella. The clear material on the canopy is a bit thin, but it does the job at keeping the water off. The canopy does come down like a bubble, but not really as far down as I would say a true bubble umbrella is, especially in that the canopy ends before it gets vertical. But for the price it is quite nice and inexpensive way to get that bubble umbrella look.

This is the most popular umbrella in Japan. Why? Its been perfected. You can see through the plastic and shaped so it doesnt invert with a gust of wind. Its difficult to bring them back to the US because of the odd size. About 3 x more expensive here, though totally worth it.

Got this for my daughter to use. She is 8 and wants to be more independent of course. It is light weight and perfect size for her.

I am so glad it was suggested to me to purchase this in case of rain on my wedding day! Rain was in the forecast for my bachelorette/bridal shower weekend, so I grabbed this umbrella that I had purchased months ago to be ready for the big day. It has a great open/close feature where once you pop the clip it jumps open, and you just have to pull it down without hurting your fingers to close it down. It made me want to use it all day instead of begrudgingly needing an umbrella during the winery tour and while walking in and out of my shower. Definitely a great purchase!!
