> 3 dayThis is it, this is the best you can get for the price right now. I wouldnt think too much about it, unless you have some extra $$$ and you can go even more crazy, but this is REALLY good. It really performs well and combined with a good RTX graphics card and enough ram, you should be good to go for a while.

> 3 day--edit: it didnt work for long. was powered on for about 40 minutes before it started restarting my pc over and over, then finally refused to boot. Put back in my 3600 and my pc works fine. So definitely the 5800x was defective, or damaged in transit because of the incompetent packers--

> 3 dayThis 5800x was on sales when I bought it and the 5900x was 100 usd over msrp for a whole month under my watch. I will not allow myself to buy that so I got the 5800x instead. Then the 5900x dropped back to msrp just after 2 weeks I bought the 5800x. Yeah....

> 3 dayThe PC crashed after three weeks. After thorough testing found the CPU was bad. It would not post with this CPU. It will post with another CPU. Now, I am having trouble getting an RMA to replace it under warranty. I keep getting Please enter valid serial number format. When it was running it was a beast.

> 3 dayThe Ryzen 5800X is an interesting product. On initial launch the 5600X was clearly the best bang for the buck option on the market, with the 5900X being the more productivity oriented model. Online reviewers reflected this sentiment, so interest and therefore demand for the 5800X diminished. In March 2021, the 5800X has become the better value part in the stack due to the other options no longer being as appealing as they once were.

Greater than one weekI bought this as a placeholder while I wait for wider availability of the Ryzen 9 5900x. I upgraded from a Ryzen 9 3900x. The 5800x is an absolute beast. Destroys all my previous setups in terms of single core speed. Multi-core /almost/ matches my 3900x, but theres still a sizeable gap in performance. AMD absolutely hit it out of the park with Zen 3. Outside of rendering work, Im not really missing my 3900x.
