Greater than one weekAmazing processing power for the money. Upgraded from an Intel i75820K to AMD Ryzen 3900x and the difference is huge. Roughly 3 times faster in all benchmarks. The AMD CPU has also a way smaller footprint and power requirements. I am beyond impressed. How tides have turned in 5 years! Hardly wait for the Ryzen 4900s in laptops to ditch Intel completely. As usual, Intel is hanging on with their money power literally paying Dell and HP to keep their CPUs in the best looking laptops. But is coming. They cant fight TSMC. Judgement day is inevitable.

> 3 dayI am a gamer, and for ages AMD has been seen as a second place choice for CPUs when compared to Intel.

09-06-2025Ive spent days trying to get the CPU to work with 3600mhz DRAM - Wont do it. Randomly hangs on restart. Everything else is good. Tried 3 types of DRAM, 3 Motherboards, two PSUs and swapped with a 3600x on a different system. 3600x works great, 3900x still hanging. Going to call G.Skill to see if they have a suggestion then RMA the CPU. Very disappointing.

> 3 dayAll these years using Intel, first time I am using AMD. What a difference. Stable and fast. 4k video editing, works great.

> 3 dayIl processore va molto bene, montato su scheda madre asus con x570 dove non ho configurato nessun overclock anche perché uso il pc principalmente per fare grafica. Ottimo processore che dire, io lho montato con il dissipatore che viene fornito in dotazione, molto carino anche lrgb della ventola.

> 3 dayWhen I first installed this, it immediately started overheating. It is on a new 570 MB that supposedly supports Ryzen Gen3. After much angst, I found this is a common problem if you dont have the correct setup, i.e. drivers and power management settings. Out of the box is not an option for this, unlike my other Ryzen 5 Gen2 which I set and forget. This should be better documented AND AMD needs to properly support Windows Server versions for their drivers and Ryzen software. With proper setup, I can run it under load with temperatures around 70c. Sometimes peaks around 80c, which worries me enough to watch it, but nowhere near the 90-95 I was originally seeing. Bought a 3rd party cooler to be sure I had properly cooling.
