> 3 dayI was wanting to upgrade to a 5900x, but in here in early 2021, they are hard to come by or are way over MSRP. If you CAN get a 5900x for $550, spend the extra money for it (and more $ for a cooler) and get a better processor. Whether you are better off with a 5800x or this 3900x will depend on what you are doing, but for me, the 3900x was a solid choice, comes WITH an okay cooler, and is ACTUALLY in stock. Im using this for DaVinci Resolve, Blender, Marvelous Designer and other programs, and all the happy cores are much appreciated. Oh, if you are using older versions of Blender, Blender 2.92 and newer does a much better job at multi-threading than it used to. If you are RENDERING in Blender, rather than doing simulations, then a good GPU is much better for that work load. But, yeah, getting a good GPU in early 2021 is and even bigger pain. All in all, this is a solid low end workstation CPU without having to go crazy on Epyc or Threadripper, and is a good bang for the buck.

> 3 dayThis processor is an absolute monster. The only reason Im giving it 4/5 is because it runs VERY warm, even with my 320mm water cooler. I could only imagine what it runs with the stock cooler. By far this would be the one to get if you cant find any newer models in stock

> 3 dayAMD has PCIe 4.0, so thats what I went for. Last computer I built was a Gen 1 i7. I try to future-proof. Im a content creator, not gamer. The old i7 is still very strong. I just wanted a new computer. R9 3900 has lots of cores and threads which seems to be good from by work. I have 32 GB RAM, and WD m.2 PCIe 4.0 drive, plus a 500 GB WD Blue SSD I had left over. Im waiting on prices to drop to get a second 2 TB m.2 for the other slot. So far, the cooler that came with this keeps T < 60 C. I really like my Meshify Compact case. AMD R9 3900 installation is better than the last time I built. You put the CPU down and flip a lever. Very easy. Happy Customer.

> 3 dayEasy installation, runs fast and cool on a stock CPU cooler. 12 cores and 24 threads, nifty! Much better than Intel. AMD 4 life!

Greater than one weekDecided to upgrade my processor from a ryzen 5 to ryzen 9 and it was working great for the year I had it. Then last week it started to reboot randomly and could never get past the bios settings. Called multiple computer stores and asked if they knew what was going on and nobody had an answer. Product was great until it wasnt.
