I went with this charger by Anker after seeing all the good reviews. However, I had some bad luck and mine died after 4 months. I left a review and was contacted by Anker. Low and behold they stood by their product and replaced it free of charge. Its good to see a company stand by their product. The replacement wasnt the same item, they actually sent out the slightly cheaper Anker Ultra-Compact. Personally. I think this compact version feels sturdier and of better quality. Ill utilize this for a few months and see how things go. If I need to update my review I will.

I first bought this for my truck to replace one purchased from Office Max about a year ago. That one was a Duracell brand. However, after about 6 months all of a sudden it made all my radio stations turn to static. So I had to choose between charging my phone or listening to the radio. After MUCH research and review-reading, I decided to try this one. Ive not been disappointed. Not only does it not cause static, but its also more high-powered than my old one, so it charges my device so much faster. Ive been using this probably for about 8 months now. Since then I bought one for my dad, my wife for in her car, and Im thinking about getting a second one for my truck. I highly recommend this, especially for the price.

The Anker PowerDrive 2 is everything I was looking for in a car charger. It charges my devices quickly and efficiently and does exactly as advertised and expected. I would like for it to come with a 1-3 foot long USB cable but its not like we all dont have an extra one laying around the house.

Anker has never disappointed. I have at least 8 of their 12v car chargers and they all work great. Bought these for the bedroom in my RV, where I just added lighter sockets for charging. The sockets are inside a cabinet, so the light in the charger does not bother me, but they do have a prety bright LED on them so keep that in mind. This works perfectly on my Iphone, T-Mobile hotspot, and even my super picky Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 that wont charge on anything besides the OEM brick or Anker powerIQ. Sometimes you have to unplug and replug the charger to get the samsung to fast charge, but it will always eventually work.

This charger lasted two years before it started resulting in an error on my iPhone stating that it was an unsupported device. When the error appeared I had to unplug and re-plug my phone for it to start charging again.

It works well at charging, but producing ridiculously bad humming in the audio output (probably a ground loop). It is smart enough to turn off or reduce the current draw when your phone is done charging, so the noise isnt bad at that point. Construction seems good, but the ground loop noise really makes it annoying to use.
