API Replacement Test Tubes for Aquarium Test Kits 6 Pack Bundle

These are the same API test tubes that come with their testing kits. The 6 pack arrived wrapped in bubble wrap with no other packaging. Poor value for price but I wanted my tubes all to match.

Original came broken but was replaced for new ones within 24 hrs. Overall good same as original

If you have an aquarium you know that you need these. And I have already gone thru a pack of these. This is my 2nd. I dont know if they are just thin or Im just too rough. But Ive had tanks for years and in the last 6 months Ive gone thru the original 4 from the master test kit and a extra pack of 6. I have broken 2 from this pack. Just regular use. These are labeled as API. They have the lines to where you add the water. So caution when using, especially with children.

My partner managed to knock over one of my test tubes in my API test kit, which provides 4 tubes and 5 tests, so you are already short if you are not sure at first where your PH is at. This is a good amount of tubes for relatively cheap. Do recommend. Not much else to say about them- they are just like the originals.

I have 3 aquariums: 1 29 gallon fish+invert main display tank; 1 5.5 gallon shrimp-only breeding tank, and one 10 gal holding tank for fry or an injured/sick fish. I have to check all tanks parameters regulartly (1-2-3x per week). If you buy the Master Test Kit, you get 4 test tubes. This allows you to check 4 tests on 1 tank. Then, you have to rinse them all and dry them before moving to a second or a 3rd tank! Since I would prefer to draw water samples from all 3 tanks, label them, then plunk myself in front of the TV while I test each water sample, I bought two sets of these. It takes most of the tests 5+ minutes to show results, so I have to allow for at least an hour of my time. With multiple test tubes for each tank, I can test them all w/o getting up and down, then clean up all in one step.

The API replacement tubes were bought to replace a tube from the original test kit which became stuck in the rack and broke upon its removal. Not only was this purchase a perfect replacement tube, the extra tubes also greatly augment the kit which actually has more potential tests than tubes, if the PH test range nears the overlap point. Having extra tubes is a time saver when testing multiple tanks and ponds.

These are a great product in theory. The labels have always been great- as has the seal of the vials. HOWEVER I have ordered these several times because they break SO easily. Do yourself a favor and either get a test tube rack for these or plastic/acrylic tubes or youll end up having to put these on subscribe and save!
