Arches paper is thirsty, holds a lot of water, and it takes a lot of brush work without breaking down, or warping. It is much higher in quality when compared with wood fiber paper. I wont go back to paper of lesser quality. Thankyou Arches!

My resident artist tells me that this paper is much better than the cheaper alternatives, although I cannot explain the difference. Something about the way it takes paint and flows. The block keeps the paper stretched until the work is finished, and then it is fairly easy to remove with a dull knife.

The paper itself is great. I love arches especially when I’m looking for a really atmospheric sky look. My negative is how the paper smells. It smells like it’s been in a smokers house... rancid smell of smoke. It’s almost unbearable. As soon as the paper is wet, the smoke smell gets right into my nose. It’s horrible. I’m almost considering throwing the pad away because of it.

so much better than those cheaper thinner papers. i was surprised at the difference. i will use it for all of my paintings, i still will use a cheaper paper to make a primary works

Arches watercolor paper is the best I’ve used so far.

High quality paper. My daughter enjoys drawing on it.
