I bought this to replace the thermal paste on an old Athlon X2 CPU that had a really dirty heatsink. After cleaning the parts, and removing the old paste with some isopropyl alcohol, I applied some thermal compound to the CPU, and replaced the heatsink. Everything works great, and CPU temps are normal when idling and under load. Very satisfied so far, will update if I encounter any problems.

I downloaded a heat monitor before I put it on; after I cleaned and put the AS 5 on the CPU is about 8 degrees cooler under load.

Artic Silver has an excellent reputation and it worked very well for me.
