> 24 hourI was looking for Zalman and Noctua coolers as I was experiencing overheating but I did run out of this stuff here as well in the process of testing different CPU on different motherboards. Well, I realized I should be using big cheap paste for testing purposes and I found a Cooler master white paste for $10 but for normal use I noticed everyone is talking Arctic MX-4 and the fact it is electrically non conductive too. I got to one inch of buying it but I had no reason to abandon Arctic Silver 5, after so many years it was a good friend who did not let me down. It is like your favorite beer, you get attached to.

> 24 hourThermals are important. When I first built my PC Two years ago i used the thermal paste provided with the cooler. Just refurbished my setup with a newer cooler and decided to go with arctic silver and I am amazed at how well it disperses the heat. Running AMD products things get hot. Went from 60C to 35C at idle. Hardly break over 65C while under load now.

> 24 hourMost of the thermal grease or compound that comes either pre-applied or with a cooler is like wet toothpaste when applied. This stuff is like liquid silver. You barely even need a dot to cover an entire surface and it works very well. It is dense and conducts heat like there is no threshold between your equipment and the block. I dont have the differences in numbers to share, but I can tell you that my CPU is sitting at 27°C right now with a $30 air cooler.
