I am not sure if I got a refurb. It was part of a daily deal and when I received them the box was not sealed (is that normal?), but the box and headphones looked pristine. The sound is really weird and unsatisfying. There is no soundstage and the sound is very boring and all over the place with weird separation. The worst part is the high end it actually irritates me to no end hear the modified high end on almost all recordings (especially distorted guitars and vocalist with gravely voices). I guess I will return and see if it is just the pair I have or if really an issue with these headphones. I am extremely disappointed as all the reviews seemed to be so positive. I really dont get it. I have much lower priced headphones that are much more enjoyable (e.g. JVC HA-RX700 $40). I also have more expensive headphones that are way better (Phillips Fidelio X1). I even tried with iPhone 6, 160G iPod, and with Fiio E11 amp and still terrible! Actually, I think everyone who thinks they love these headphones should try the Phillips Fidelio X1 or X2 and tell me if they dont see the difference in pure musical enjoyment for all genres and no amp required.

More than I care to spend on headphones, however the quality makes up for it. They are manufactured and designed well, and the quality of sound is superb. The removable cord and ability for the headphones to collapse makes it great for travelling.

Almost two years later and they havent aged a day despite daily use and frequent travel. These cans have beautiful​ sound and are highly durable.

My son is a (beginning) music producer. Bought these for him to replace the Beats headphones he had been using that were wearing out. He loves these! The case is a bonus. He tells me the sound quality is amazing!

This was the best purchase of headphones I have ever bought and enjoy on my guitar, Bass and piano! Even my iPad and iPhone sounds real! My son has a pair, said that theses headphones were the best on the market, He is right also! Thank you for making these Beautiful sounding Headphones!!!!!! If anyone says that their crap, tell them to get their hearing checked!!!!!!!!!!

Same as ATH-M50s, plus detachable cord (proprietary, but is actually 2.5mm with a plastic locking mechanism -- it can be modified to use regular 2.5mm plug). The model name is stamped in plastic on each fork holding connecting the driver housing to the headband in instead of printed on the back of each driver housing.

Im a gigging DJ for over twenty plus years. Good sturdy headphones that last were hard to find, until I found these. May be the best headphones Ive ever owned.

as a working musician and a former sound engineer, ive worked with a few different makes, models and applications. the audio technics agh-m50x are a great pair of headphones. overall, these handsome headphones are comfortable,... if you dont wear glasses. they do squeeze my face a little. so i just take my glasses off: im listening not looking, anywho. in regards to the sound, theyre well balanced with a little top end for clarity. but theres not too much of any range: they give you a great unbiased listen to whatever youre playing.
