> 24 hourPurchased for nine year old grandson who just started whittling/carving in Boy Scouts. It’s easy for him to hold and works well, it’s a great beginners carving knife. We also purchased a protective glove for him to ensure safety

> 24 hourThis is a great knife for grandkids to use. I have one grand son that likes to use the shaving horse, so carving is next. I like the safety features. It is sharp out of the box. First lesson will be how to strop and knife safety.

> 24 hourThank you @beavercraft_tools for the new beginners carving knife. The bandages were a nice touch. Upon opening the box, the knife slipped out without a protective cover. The shipping cover was in the box it was just wedged in with other stuff. The leather cover is really nice and ties on easily. Holding the knife, the handle is a little small for my adult hands but is a great shape and size for the younger person it was designed for. I’m glad the tip is fully rounded, stabs really hurt. First carve on the rubber duck cut out, showed me the knife was sharp, but only sharp about 3/4 the way from the guard to the tip. The beveled part of the rounded tip is not sharp enough to carve. This is ok to start with but would be better if sharp. This is the first carving knife I’ve seen with a finger guard. This is a great idea for a beginners knife. The guard itself is a little too pointy as I stabbed myself behind my thumb guard. Overall a great knife for beginners and as safe as a wood carving knife can be.

> 24 hourI am very pleased with the knife, it came super sharp. The handle is perfect size for my son. I really like that it has a finger guard and rounded tip for safety. This is a great beginner bushcraft/whittling knife!

> 24 hourWhat a great concept! This is an really good way to introduce a youngster into wood carving. The product is very good quality, as is all of the Beavercraft knives I have…. they just make great products, at very reasonable cost, and their customer service is excellent. I got this particular one for getting my grandkids into carving, and hopefully as a spark to enjoy all woodworking. Could not recommend this and other Beavercraft products more highly!
