I have known this Taiwanese brand for years and owned their accessories before from CD-Rs to their card media readers and the brand grew into me as trusted and dependable. The screen quality itself is superb for an IPS panel. The contrast ratio may not seem like the ones you see on Korean brands of the same type of display but the colors are bright and are faithfully reproduced if you can manually tweak the display settings bypassing their Eye care tech. The only thing that keeps me from giving this product 5 stars is the price for the refresh rate it has. We now have plenty of same-sized panels from MSI and even Asus with the same display for slightly above the price with higher refresh rates as of this review. Also, their built-in speakers are weak and you will have to provide your own. You cant increase the volume past a certain limit even if you plugged in your own speakers.

I purchased this because I wanted a high-quality, light-weight display that was easy to transport for working trips when I go to visit friends & family. Works great with my Macbook Air allowing me to work from anywhere.

Usually at this price you get a TN panel with lousy viewing angles and washed out colors. This IPS monitor has much wider viewing angles and much better color than typical TN monitors. The thin bezels and overall understated look are also nice. You also 2 digital inputs (HDMI and DP) plus analog which is more than most monitors of any type of this size and price. And its nice its certified flicker free and has low blue modes that work well. It also runs quite cool and is very energy efficient. And having a standard 100x100 VESA mount is also nice. Now for the bad news. The menu system is needlessly complicated and more like what monitors had 15 years ago. They went to the trouble to give you custom assignable buttons except theyre not one touch access, and youre limited to what you can assign each button to. You first have to hit any button (but be careful not the hit the power switch in the same row or youll shut the monitor off--the buttons are essentially unlabed) to bring up an on screen menu of what the assignable buttons do. Then you can hit the button you want, then you often have to either hit it multiple times or use the arrow buttons to navigate to what youre trying to get to. So much for quick access. Using the regular menus dives even deeper into button pressing frustration. So if you had fantasies about saying assigning Button 1 to be the HDMI input and Button 2 to be the Display Port input think again. You press any button (except power), then the button programed to be Input (which can ONLY be button 2), then you press again one or more times to select the input you want round-robin-style, then you press the check mark (apply) button. So what could have been one press of a single button instead requires up to 5 presses of multiple buttons. Its typical Taiwanese/Chinese poor user interface design. Auto brightness is really useful and reduces eye strain but the Eye Care Bright Intelligence has been rendered all but useless by more poor design. Every time the monitor detects the slightest change in ambient light it pops up a rather large annoying graphic with a stupid large eye on it in the lower right corner for a good 5 or 10 seconds to tell you it ever so slightly adjusted the brightness! Even with the sensitivity turned all the way down, even just the reflection of whats being displayed (say a screen with lots of white vs a dark screen) while wearing a light colored shirt triggers these frequent and highly annoying pop ups. Really BenQ? Why they had to ruin a perfectly good feature by constantly advertising it Ill never understand. Also, while the color gamut and dynamic range of this monitor is better than most TN panels, it falls far short short of what you want for serious photo and/or video editing. The backlight uniformity is also not all that great with some bleed and halo effect. In these regards you get what you pay for. But theres no excuse for the auto brightness pop up. The could have just left some code out of the firmware and it would be a great feature but instead they made it so annoying I doubt many will use it.

First off, I spent weeks over analyzing reviews and when I finally went to buy them, they sold out. So I had to wait about two weeks, was about to buy other brands (Viewsonic, sceptre, Acer, and HP) because I was impatient. So glad I didn’t. I swapped out 2 (two) 22inch Dell monitors (which both were different bezels and models) one was brighter than the other and one had too much yellowing. It was definitely time to swap. I really don’t play any games on my work computer, so I can’t comment on the games or refresh rate being too low at i What I did try was some movies (At 720p and 1080p) and YouTube streaming. The picture, brightness, and colors are super crisp! The refresh rate at 60hz is fine for what we do. If you work in the office, this is more than perfect!! Surprisingly, the speakers are ok, definitely made for listening to a webinar or a team meeting... or music on low. But, to be clear, I won’t be using these monitors to watch movies, but it was a great test of the clarity and colors. I’ll be using this for Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and company programs. The viewing angles are great too! My wife said I didn’t need new monitors but after I bought them anyway, set them up and she saw them set up, she told me she is going to use them too. We both use the same HP Docking station so works out! See the before and after pictures. I also attached these monitors on Amazon’s Dual Monitor desk mount for $39.99. So much cleaner and less crap on the desk. One thing I’ll say, the flicker free is for real!!! You may see some on the pictures that I uploaded but my wife and I literally DO NOT see any flickering! Also, we hated that the other older monitors had large bezels that prevented us from being more efficient and had to move out apps or word documents around so we could read them. Now, we can literally read everything with little to no distraction or disruption. Yes, there is at least just shy of a 1/4 inch bezel, but after dealing with a 2 inch bezel gap between the two older monitors, this is glorious!! The two bezels on the BenQ combined are still thinner than one of the monitors on the Dell. Trust me, Especially with working from home during the pandemic, this was causing more pissed off days. Also, the adaptive brightness is also working and very subtle but works! It does come with HDMI cables, but my HP docking station has two DP ports. Yes recommend!!!

Get these regularly for our office, and 2 of these so far had the foam inside busted, a used HDMI cord with white.. paint? All over the cord. All the plastic baggies were just stuffed in the box, when normally each cord/manual has its own baggie. Dont know if these were returned and they re used them or something but was kinda iffy about using them. Luckily they still work as of now though....

This monitor is super sleek and I have it attached to a dual monitor mount and it attached easily via VESA mounting holes. The only little thing I have an issue is that it is bit a slower to turn on and setup when I wake up my PC from a sleep. It takes about 5 seconds to turn on after my main gaming monitor. Also, the default settings for this monitor dont really show how nice and bright this monitor can get so I suggest tampering with the settings to your liking. Some dimming problems also exist when youre not centered with the screen, but that isnt too much to complain about as its fairly priced compared to other monitors of its kind.

Being on a keyboard all day, I found that my dry eye problem was becoming worse. And working off a laptop led me with too small a screen to focus on. Being on a very small budget, there wasnt much choice in options. I chose this specifically because it talked about being easier on the eyes. Hallelujah! This truly is easier on my eyes. My eyestrain is seriously reduced and my dry eyes are no longer so dry. The size is ok for my work area, which is pretty small. I sit about the length of a full-sized bed away from the screen. Further away would be too far. Closer would be uncomfortable. Plan accordingly. There are two things that are mildly disappointing to me. First is the reduced sharpness of the picture. The one on my laptop is much sharper. Im trading off the larger size and reduced eyestrain for somewhat less sharpness. Ill live with it. The second is the inevitable near lack of speaker volume. Plan to either use headphones or attach secondary speakers. I use some small, inexpensive ones that are perfectly adequate to my admittedly unsophisticated and demanding needs. I use headphones when I am editing legal transcripts. All in all, Im perfectly satisfied that the product met my requirements. If I had the ability to get a top of the line eye-care monitor, Id jump at the opportunity. But in the beggers-cant-be-choosers category, this is surprisingly adequate.
