> 3 dayThe customer service is great - the unit was auto powering off with no notice or reason, and BenQ quickly issued a shipping label to return and replaced it quickly. Putting a lot of hours on it and working really well. Regarding the unit itself - Android integration is what sets this apart from others of similar quality. The ability to adjust the angle of the lens is nice for fine tuning. The picture quality is really impressive.

> 3 dayUPDATE***** Old review below. The projector made it just about 3 years of use and 1400 hours, now HDMI ports totally dead. It will not run a long 4k HDMI cable. Wont work. The her setting is so white washed its useless, unless you are able to figure how to set it properly. Non hdr it works great. Has an auto sense for projector fitment. Have never touched the focus and non hdr colors look very good.

> 3 dayI bought the ht3550 16 months ago. It has failed 4 times. Benq has sent me 3 of them and 1 was repaired. The DMD chip fails after 4 to 6 months. A white pixel will show up. Then before you know it , there are dozens. I returned the first one after 4 months because of big white spots. They sent a new one. 5 months later I sent it for repair. They sent a new one. 3 months later I sent it infor repair. Got a new one. Sent that in for repair and it was repaired. Customer service aint great so its a real pain. The last repair I asked for bulb replacement (4000 hours) and was told the bulb should last 20,000 hours. There is no way that it true. Its only 2000 lumens anyway. Turned out they were just out of stock on the bulbs. Thats a problem too. Customer service doesnt care about making things right so look at optoma or epson.

> 3 dayBENQ delivers as expected. I bought this to replace my 12 year old Epson Cinema HD projector after the internal board went bad (known issue). Mounting this can be a big pain because the BENQ has hump on it where as most projects are flat where the mounting brackets go. I was able to use my 12 year old mounting bracket by some adjustments. First I added some foam on hump and got bigger screws (M4) to make the bracket connection. The foam was used to prevent scratches and dents, and to get the bracket and screw in. The other two screws on the flat areas were simple to get in with no modifications needed. Also I preferred to use my old bracket as it was measured for my 120inch screen. The only other work was running a 4K HDMI cable around 30 Feet as there was no 4K 12 years ago. Also had to get a new receiver and a few more cables for other media devices. Now the setup once powered on was pain. BENQ should of made this simple but one has to play with this setting plus the remote etc. Finally after an hour of moving the project in X direction and playing with remote plus the lens on the project I got everything adjusted to my 120 inch screen. Since I am not using this for gaming I cannot rate that.

> 3 dayI have wanted a projector for a long time, and finally was able to get one. I did a lot of research, and i really loved hat i had read about this one. This projector is great. It is a 1080 projector with pixel shifting, so they can call it 4k. It supports HDR and has a wide color range. The latest firmware added ARC. Projector also supports 3d if thats your thing, I had a passive 3dtv that i thought was good, this is fantastic!!! Its really what 3d should be. I have watch a few 4k movies on it and it puts out a beautiful picture. I have also watch a lot blu-ray movies and it up converts great. What was my real surprise was watching old tv shows that were of not great quality. I feared seeing it blown up on a 110 screen was going to make it impossible to enjoy, and i am glad I was wrong. It even made old Andy Griffith shows look great. Now i am not going to lie, mounting this was not fun. Where it mounts, it is not flush, so you have to be pretty creative with the mounting bracket you use. If you choose not to mount it and just have it on a table, you should have no worries. You really need to read the mounting instructions well though, and make sure you have the room to do it. This is a shorter throw projector, so you can get a 110 screen from a little over 8ft away, but i wish i would have went with a 100 because of the room. If you follow the instructions even an idiot with no experience or confidence in doing anything like this can do it pretty well. It just make take a little longer than a professional. Dont let the price fool you, you are getting a high end projector in the BenQ th3550. This projector is beautiful in a dark room, and still looks good in low light, or light not directly on it. In a bright room its going to look washed out. Benq has the TK850 projector that is better in more light, so if you cant control your lighting that maybe better for you, but if you can control your lighting, again you cannot get better than this.

> 3 dayPowers on. Orange light goes to green flashing. Then steady. Annnndddd..... nothing. No light, no engine, no sound. And.... No manual, just a quick start guide. So no clue as to whats happening. First projector experience. Did a lot of research. What a bust. Ill call them during work hours, but seems like i got a $1500 lemon out of the box. Unless the lamp takes hours to warm up. Days later - So they haven’t Sent a replacement and I’m 1400 out of pocket. The lemon shipped at a cost of $25 to me last week. I was told they wouldn’t wait to ship replacement

> 3 dayI own a BenQ projector that I bought 6-7 years back which still works great. Decided to upgrade to a 4K projector and chose this. The picture quality was Amazing. It was a natural progression from 1080P to 4K - till it lasted. As some have observed, the projector stopped working after a few movies. Except for the Green power light blinking and turning on, the projector is basically dead. No sound (of the fan), no light. Hope BenQ finds the issue and fixes it so future customers dont have to go through this...
