> 3 dayFor the price, I thought this would be the last umbrella I would ever buy. Unfortunately, that was not the case. One good thing is that it lasted 4 years, which is why I gave it 2 stars, but I expected more. The weak point is that the shaft is made up of 2 sections. I had mine in the car and one day I go to get it and the shaft had separated. How? I have no idea. I tried to put it back together but the metal is very thing and deforms easily so it was impossible. I contacted the company and showed them what happened but since the warranty was expired there was nothing they could do.

> 3 dayUmbrella looked promising, until I saw that every stretcher was snapped off. The part you use to open it wasnt even connected. Not sure how many of these get sent out like this, but it seems like it is a lot more than it should be. The durability of these umbrellas seem questionable and I wonder if many buyers will change their outlook after a year of use.

Greater than one weekI have owned three of these. Blunt leads you to believe that they are unbreakable but they are just the opposite. The first one lasted two years but the mechanism failed. I thought I would give it another go so I bought another and that failed after a month. The store replaced it in April 2014 and it lasted until November 2014. We had a pretty dry summer so I had maybe used it a dozen times but last week we had a lot of rain in New York and the struts broke en masse. Its a terrible product.

Greater than one weekI originally thought I had a lemon as this umbrella wouldnt stay open. I was worried that I would have to deal with Blunts customer service which hasnt received great reviews. So one day, I just got kind of annoyed with it, and rapidly OpenCloseOpenCloseOpenCloseOpenClosed it, and then it just stayed open and behaved properly after that. So at best, I got a great umbrella. At worst, I got an umbrella who learned not to mess with me, but may be planning to soak me one day.

> 3 dayIt is large, sturdy, handles both rain and wind well, and looks nice, too. What more is there to say?

Greater than one weekThis is a nice umbrella. It is clear some work went into the design, and I was drawn in by the claims of meticulous engineering and I dont doubt that the shape and structure are well thought out for an umbrella. But this design is betrayed by poor use of material. The struts (I think correct term is ribs based on some googling) are made of a stiff plastic, which gave me pause when I first opened it. It worked very well for the first few rains. However, recently I opened it to see the plastic hinges near the top of the umbrella ribs had snapped. Considering it just leaned against the wall when it wasnt in use, this was strange. Given the price of this umbrella I am very disappointed in the material quality despite seemingly good design. I really doubt this is a fluke in my umbrella, and I think I will buy umbrellas that do not make load bearing components out of plastic. Maybe Blunt has a line with metal construction?
