Greater than one weekWe love this swimmie device,, my son is a little over 2 and loves to wear this swimmie vest, he is swimming and kicking and we feel safe with this vest! If you are thinking about getting this one get it! I recently ordered the puddle jumper one to have an extra one, and he did not like it pulled it right off, he loves his dinosaur swimmies:)

> 3 dayHad a tough time finding a float that would work this year for our newly 2 year old. He didn’t quite measure up to the required weight for any floats but we took a chance on this one because of the extra shoulder straps compared to a normal puddle jumper. We are more then impressed. He jumps in the pool and is able to keep up with his big sisters mostly. It does allow him to float immediately on his back and did that every time until he figured out how to maneuver himself. You definitely have to watch a child closely in this still (especially if a little under the recommendation for weight) but we found it worth every penny! Peace of mind. We don’t have to hold him in the pool. And he is happy for the independence.

> 3 dayGot these for our younger set and boy do I wish I had it when the older were their age! Worked great for the entire season, and gave me peace of mind in the pool that I didnt have to have my hands directly on three different kids under the age of 5. No pinching or rug burns or complaints from the 5-year-old or the 2-year-old. 100% worth it for the safety piece of mind of parents with kids near water.

> 3 dayI bought this for my 17 month baby boy (24 pounds). I chose it over the puddle jumper because of its shoulder straps. Also, there seems to be problems with counterfeit puddle jumpers. My son who hates being confined accepted wearing the device pretty quickly. As this is made for children 30-50 pounds, it fits big on my boy. The arm holes are large and I have to cinch the back strap all the way. It does however stay on. The first three times we used it, my son was pretty freaked out, wanting to hold onto us. The device does not work passively like a traditional life vest; it requires the child to work at keeping his/her upper body/head out of the water. By the end of the third pool session, my baby was floating and gliding without us holding him (but within arms reach of course). He even fell off the side of the pool and he was immediately bobbed to the surface. This is rated as a type 3 PFD so we did use it on a boat once. My son hated wearing it on the boat. It was bulky and hot. But I dont think he would have been any happier in any other type of pfd either. All in all, it was a good purchase. It can be used with younger/lighter children than the 30 pound lower limit suggests. However, there is a learning curve as your child learns how keep his/her body afloat.

> 3 dayThis is perfect for our 16 month old. She is only about 23 lbs and we were having a hard time finding anything that would work for her. The puddle jumper fell off her arms but this stayed on and she loves being able to be more independent in the pool. I would definitely recommend this!!
