Yeah, if you can name the commercial, youre probably at least as old as I am. (Irish Spring.) And back then, it was cute to have a girl in the commercial winking-ly hinting that shes going to use the he-man product. Today, maybe not so much, but then women do continue to go after things (initially) marketed to guys, whether its menswear-style shirts and boy shorts or traditionally masculine fragrances. My favorite current perfume, from Tokyo Milk, has woodsy and tobacco notes. Neither I nor my husband (who has to live with me) like cloying, strong floral scents. This Bounce Pure Sport Dryer sheet has, guess what, woodsy and - I think its tobacco flower (but maybe some other subtle floral) and smoky notes. It doesnt smell to high heaven of perfume or laundry soap. Its also subtle enough to just leave a bit of scent on freshly dried laundry. Thats a real change (THANK YOU!) from what Im used to, but also a nice alternative to scent free products that, although best for severe allergy sufferers, leave laundry too often smelling more not dirty than actually clean. But Im still chuckling over the ad copy here. Like washing (my) clothes at Teddy Roosevelts hunting lodge? Somebodys been watching too many of those Old Spice commercials. No feminist rant here. My outlook on gender roles too often mirrors Delta Burkes old line from Designing Women: The man should have to kill the bug! But cmon, P&G, Woodland Retreat Bounce or some such would get my attention a lot faster than something I might assume smells aggressively of mens cologne. In any case, I see this currently out of stock on Amazon and think I may have to scout some stores, just in case this turns out to be a limited edition. Beats the heckoutta the usual scents.

I wondered if this could be an April Fools Joke. I have no earthly idea how P&G green-lighted this product.

Bounce has one of my favorite detergent fragrances, but the scent of these sheets is even better! It combines the fresh fragrance with a more masculine note that is not annoyingly musky... similar to the ice scents in modern deodorants. I think many women would prefer it too. I think the marketing is a bit silly, but the smell is worth it.

I have used Bounce dryer sheets for over 25 years, but the Pure Sport for Men is new to me. Let’s get the basics out of the way first. These perform just like other Bounce dryer sheets that you might have used in the past. Let me tell you what you can’t tell from your web browser. The scent of these is not overpowering, which I consider to be a good thing. While it is not an exact comparison, I think the smell is similar to colognes such as Eternity, Polo Sport, or Nautica. I use these are representative scents rather than direct comparison. Contrast this type of scent to something spicy or musky like Obsession. These dryer sheets do not smell anything like that. In my opinion, that is the biggest risk that you have buying these online. Hopefully I’ve given you an idea of what to expect. In summary, it is Bounce performance with a scent that smells like a certain type of men’s cologne. I recommend these to anyone looking for a more manly smell from dryer sheets who also likes the type of colognes I mentioned.

These dryer sheets impart a clothes softener and have a nice sent which is more spicy than flowery. They seem hard to find. Apparently, the concept of a dryer sheet for men did not win s coveted marketing trophy, but I am sure that I am not the lone stranger in preferring them to Spring Cloud, Roses and Carnations, and Ocean Breeze.

I was excited to see a new scent! I have always enjoyed the Fresh Scent, Outdoors, Spring, .... This is a great change of pace and my husband now prefers that I use these when drying his gym clothes and camis. I hope they continue to create new scents for men.

I have no doubt that this product -- lint sheets *for men* -- came out of market research that showed men who do the laundry dont use lint sheets, and that the way to get them to use them is to make lint sheets appear masculine. I dont know what pure sport is supposed to smell like, but these have a flowery, if not a tad purfume-like smell. But thats not a bad thing. I find that the smell is quite pleasant, and does not smell artificial or poignant like so many laundry products. It leaves a nice, subtle fresh smell on my clothes. I received this as a free sample, but I would definitely buy it.

The scent itself is quite nice. My entire laundry room smells like a fancy mens cologne counter. However, I was pretty disappointed that the smell didnt really transfer to the clothes themselves. I honestly couldnt detect much of a fragrance at all on the dried clothes. I suppose this could be a good thing if youre washing your whole familys clothes and dont want your baby smelling like a grown man. I however, was expecting the scent to stick around a bit more. I may just hang up a few in my husbands closet instead to help keep things smelling fresh.
