Boyd Enterprises Chemi-Pure Blue Filtration Media for Aquarium, 11-Ounce (2 Pack)

I always wanted to believe in chemi pure. I tried it and took it out-many times over the last 30 years of marine aquarium keeping. I was just never happy with it. Its been years using another medium and honestly I wanted a little more pop out of mine. I read all the reviews. People love it and on and on. Okay Ill try it. Started with a small 5 oz and an 11 oz in the filter sock of my sump. Its just ok I thought. Left it in a week then threw in another 11 oz pouch and bam my tank has never looked this good in my entire life. Im not one who tries anything new. I thought my old stuff was great. It still is but nothing like this. Incredible. I have a 75 mixed reef. 20 gallon sump. The amount Im using is ridiculously too much but its working. I wish it was cheaper and I dont think it will last near 4 months but Im going to go with it for awhile and update along the way. Give it a try.

Great product! I run 3 of these in my salt water fish and reef tank and it keeps the water crystal clear. I only need to change the Chemi-pure every 3 months making it well worth the money. System is 125 gallon main tank, with MP40, (3) gen3 radion led, sump with live rock, Reef Octopus protein skimmer, mag 12 pump, chemi-pure, and I run a separate refugium giving me a total volume around 170 gallons. I keep SPS, LPS, lots of inverts, and 12 fish ranging in size from small snowflake clowns to large Mag Fox Face. All are thriving. Boyd Chemi-pure is the only product I will use for chemical filtration. Before the addition of the refugium I used Boyd Chemi-pure elite which is also a great product!

This stuff must come from the hand of God. I started using Chemi-pure Blue many years ago and grown to depend on it as a must have for my Reef filtration. Just incredible.

I have been using Chemi Pure blue for some time in my 100 gallon saltwater tank and never had a problem with it and have been very happy with the product. My most recent order I opened the containers and noticed it smelled like fish, I didnt think anything at the time. I rinsed before putting in my filters. The next day my tank was cloudy!! I did a quick water check and my nitrates were through the roof!! I had a severe bacterial bloom. I pulled both chemi pure pouches out of my filter and threw them in the trash. The bloom lasted 24 hours, Unfortunately I lost my beloved flame Angel and Fairy Wrasse. All of my other fish survived. I since have ordered more chemi pure and they smell like nothing when I open the containers. Do not use if when you open the container it smells like fish!! You may throw off your entire tank and potentially deal with fish loss.

Did not raise ph in my aquarium. Will stick to GFO and carbon they are cheaper and do just as well
