> 3 dayThis brand was recommended to me as a combination of weight management and muscle recovery solution. Im no body builder and their encyclopedic knowledge of micro-nutrients is often way more than I need to know. I do resistance training 4x a week and my recovery times were steadily getting longer as I got older, when I discussed this with my local gyms adviser, she recommended this brand to address both my needs as the first line of defense for more reasons than just a protein source. Ive tried protein powders in the past and in brief, they were very unpleasant to consume. This stuff, mixed with some coconut milk, was downright a treat! Though it mixes pretty well with a spoon if youre a little patient, I still recommend a blender, tossing in some ice and cinnamon and its practically a desert. The price is pretty good too, and the brand has a lot of different flavors that if theyre as good as the chocolate, anyone can find their favorite flavor. Looking at the label, some people get put off by the calories and the fat content, but as plenty of research has revealed, low fat is not healthy and calories by themselves are not the measure of a meal. I use this for my breakfast and have plenty of energy throughout the morning till lunch time and consider its nutrition of a far greater quality than anything I could cook up myself, not to mention that this takes me all of 2 minutes to make and thats including the cleaning time of the blender. Results? My recovery time is much faster now, weight creep has been reversed and the quality of my daily nutrition has taken a serious step up, this will stay a staple in my pantry. Even my teenage nephew who is notoriously finicky has taken to using this instead of cereal for breakfast and claims it has prompted him to make more thoughtful lunch selections.

> 3 dayThis is a decent protein powder - but with so many other options, I wouldnt purchase it again. First of all, I think taste should be discussed. Everyone that uses Syntha-6 raves about the flavor, and its good (in fact, with milk, its fantastic). However, every protein tastes better with milk; with water, Syntha-6 is slightly above average. Mixing with water, the protein has a distinctly artificial flavor, with a noticeable aftertaste. Although it really tastes like a milkshake when mixed with milk, the protein shake is just a protein shake when mixed with water. This is kind of disappointing, as I was expecting the flavor to outweigh the powders comparative nutritional shortcomings. Syntha-6 has more fat, cholesterol, and calories per serving than Optimum Nutrition and Dymatize - all while offering less protein per serving. And while the idea of a multi-protein blend seems appealing at first, the Syntha-6 labels provide basically no information on the mix ratio. This makes it kind of hard to determine how to use the protein. Is it suitable for post-workout shakes (traditionally a time when quick-absorbing whey is used)? Is it a good protein to take just before bed (generally a time when slow-absorbing casein protein would be used)? Ultimately, you dont have enough information to know with any degree of certainty; you just have to trust BSN and believe that the Syntha-6 mix is ideal. Personally, Im inclined to believe that it belongs in the jack of all trades, master of none category. In short, I wont be getting another bottle. The proteins flavor really isnt game-changing; the nutritional value is poor, compared to other mainstream options, and the mystery blend of proteins used in Syntha-6 just doesnt have my confidence. Get yourself a bottle of whey and a bottle of casein instead, if youre into the post-workout/nighttime shakes thing. Otherwise, just go with something that has a better nutritional profile (like Dymatize or Optimum Nutrition).

> 3 dayOne of the best protein powders out there. Strawberry tastes great and mixes well. You just have to give it a good shake.

> 3 dayJust a bit about myself so you know what kind of body this is going into. I work at a youth camp doing lifeguarding during the summer and various physically strenuous maintenance tasks during the winter. Im not sure how this would work for someone trying to pack on serious muscle for various competitions, but for me this works great. I use it for two things, to add extra protein to my diet and to add usable calories (as opposed to candy bars and snacks). When not doing the hard labor, I mix one shake serving with two cups of chocolate or strawberry milk (depending on the flavor of the shake and drink it in place of a meal when I dont feel like eating and it gives me enough calories and nutrition to keep my body going. When I am doing hard labor (tree cutting, wood splitting, etc) I use these to supplement my protein intake and add more calories. During times of heavy labor, Ill need around 5,000 to 6,000 calories a day, but I dont usually have the time to stop and have a fourth and fifth meal and these fit the bill perfectly. I do the straight shakes to help me cram more calories into my body and to help me recover with extra protein. The taste is also great; I have both the strawberry shake and the chocolate shake and while you can still tell they are protein shakes, you dont have to force them down like other shakes. I would not choose these over a real milkshake (like some reviewers imply) but they are still really good and satisfy your sweet tooth quite nicely. If you want pure protein, these are probably not the greatest since it has a good dose of carbs and fats, but if you just need more protein in your diet and a few extra calories, you cant go wrong with these. *note- do not drink these before a meal if you have to make sure to get calories from the meal. One shake will curb your appetite and you wont be hungry. Wait until after and slam it down.

> 3 dayThis is by far the best protein shake mix out there! I was skeptical because Id tried many over the years. I was introduced to this and havent (AND WONT) looked back! I put a banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter with about 1/4 cup of water and ice and its almost heaven. I look forward to getting home after work and making a shake. Its calming and just overall a great way to end a hard day! Its VERY fulfilling. I have added about 3 tablespoons of oatmeal to it on days when I hadnt eaten. There is no need for sugar and/or sweetener. I liked it so much that I purchased the strawberry flavor also. So far I dont like it as much as the vanilla ice cream flavor. I think I need to continue to try adding things to the strawberry flavor to see if I could be a fan of it. But for now Im 1,000% sure ANYONE would love the vanilla! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!! THANK YOU SYNTHA-6!!!!!!!!

> 3 dayI am NOT a health nut. I am obese and I trying to get my health/weight/stress levels under control. I (very reluctantly) decided that my first round of behavior modification would include getting my digestive system under control by trying to regulate my diet, adding a significant amount of fiber and protein. I was very wary of getting a protein powder because I dont like gritty textures and dont tolerate healthy tasting items well either. I once threw up a Muscle Milk. But this stuff tastes AMAZING. I actually LIKE it and you couldnt pay me to say that before. Its the fat persons protein powder. The con to that is that you cannot mix it without a blender. I mean not at ALL. It all clumps up on top. Its also near impossible to get it smooth in a Blender Bottle, so its not so convenient if your on the go. I havent blended in advance, so I cant tell you if it settles or maintains its flavor that way. If I do, I will update the review. It also packs a calorie punch. Its about 200 calories a scoop, two servings with 1 & half cup almond milk will put you a whopping 640 calories. I am just using it for protein supplementation and its heavy on the calorie count. Its also 23% (per SCOOP) of your daily cholesterol intake. I already have high cholesterol, so I am leery about consuming 46% of my daily value just in shakes (and thats with cholesterol FREE almond milk, with regular milk it would clog your arteries). Speaking as an already obese person, its sometimes difficult to maneuver around this 640 calorie drink and meet my 1400 goal. I use one shake as a snack and one as a meal (usually breakfast). That only leaves me 760 calories to do TWO meals. And thats just the powder, not add-ins like peanut butter or strawberries. It is possible to do this, but it takes some sacrifice and ingenuity, especially given my inherent love of food that led to my obesity. I gave it 4 stars because it does have a boatload of protein (22g per serving) if your doing in 2x per day, and are heavy like myself, its so worth it. Also, because you cant BEAT the taste and it has 6g fiber so it leaves you full for some time. I honestly dont think I could tolerate anything else that would be close to this good.

> 3 dayTried a lot of protein powders and this one works well and tastes good. Use it in shakes, smoothies and over yogurt. We also have used it in protein balls and it is good for that too! We will continue to purchase it although the price has gone up almost 50%.

> 3 dayI have tried some protein shakes (I won’t say that a lot of them, but still some), and I think this might be the best I have tried. I LOVE it’s flavor, many other protein shakes taste weird or have a very disgusting blending texture, but this one dissolves into the milk quickly and smoothly, and the taste is amazing, it’s like drinking a Vanilla Ice Cream milkshake, I just love it. As for the quality, it seems to be a very good quality product, it does have some calories but they’re not much, is almost like taking a granola bar, and I mean, you really NEED some calories, and even more if you are going to the gym, and most of them are quite useful rather than “harmful” calories because most of them come from the protein itself, it has a little bit of carbohydrates but not much. I wish it had lower levels of cholesterol (they’re not very high but still would want it to be a little lower), but I also know that some cholesterol is actually necessary for your body, as all of the membranes of the cells have cholesterol in them. The protein itself seems to be from very high quality amino-acids, which are very important for real muscle growth. It’s very good because it also makes decrease my food craving and my appetite (which may be because of the high protein levels itself). And it does not give me any side or negative effects. The product content is quite good, and it will last very long, so for the price I think it’s very good. So far, so good, it really has helped me to gain some muscle at the gym, without gaining fat related weight, it has done it’s job, I love it. Would definitely recommend to buy.

Greater than one weekI believe the Macro nutrient profile qualifies this more as a light meal replacement than a pure and simple protein powder. People compare this to a Mcdonalds milkshake or a shake from a restaurant. I wouldnt go that far. Does it taste like a Milkshake? well, the taste is pretty good. Keep in mind that my favorite protien powder is Muscle milk orange cream which taste like those old ice cream Push ups. I purchased the Chocolate and strawberry shake and I will say that compared to other PURE (thats the key word) protien powders this is tasty, Mixes easy, and most of all is very easy to drink. Ive been in the bodybuilding world for 20 years and have tasted and used the most horrid tasting products for the sake of results. If taste is whats keeping you from having your protien I think youll be happy with this. I am using it with skim milk as a meal replacement because I dont really think this product qualifies and a pure protien product in that they have added fiber and good fats to enhance the flavor. Yes, the carbs mainly come from Fiber and the fats are MCTs and EFAs which make them just fine. Do you get results? Well Im using this protien 2-3 times daily to controll caloric intake and in the last couple of weeks with minimal cardio I have lost 7lbs and its been very easy because this powder keeps my blood sugar stable. So, in my opinion this is good stuff and I will be using it as a staple in my diet because I no longer tolerate nasty tasting powders. I would recommend this powder and despite many of the reviews making it sound like this tastes like a milkshake from your favorite shop...it doesnt...But it does taste like a milkshake compared to other protien powders and Meal replacements. Toss in a multivitamin, some milk, and you have a nice meal replacement with blood sugar stabilizing protien and good fats along with some much needed Fiber.
