It arrived with black ink all over it and after replacing the cartrdiges it would not install but kept saying a cartridge was not installed correctly and when I would check all was as should be. I am donating to a charity for someone else to try to get to work.

The ink is dirt cheap. I was surprised at how many pages it can print before the ink tanks need replacement. My kids just print and print. Compact size for small desk. The photo print quality is great as well. I have used it over my epson just for the fact the epson ink is over $30 per tank. Mind you it has no paper tray, it is noisy and slow. Buy without hesitation.

The most simple printer I ever purchased. So bare bones it didnt even have an output tray. Printed the most perfect color Ive seen to date. Too bad it didnt come in a wide carriage model.

Nice printer, works fairly quicker than my previous Canon. Only downside, as other have pointed out, is the lack of catch tray. My old ink worked just fine for this one also, didnt even need to buy a differnt type.

I bought this printer based on the reviews given below. I was trying to find a printer that was good quality and used lower cost ink cartridges. So it has been pretty good. I have used it since july of 2005 and it has performed well. Ink cartridges are much cheaper than my former HP photosmart printer p1000 i think thats what it was called. The only thing is i wished this printer had a paper exit tray. But anyway it has been very dependable and i like it. I would buy another one. gg

A local computer store was doing demos, took pic of my baby w canon A95 @ 3mp used the IP1500 and canon 4 x 6 glossy WOW! I checked out the price on Amazon Under $50, 50pcs of glossy 4x6 was under $8. The BCI-24 black is ~$8 and BCI-24 color ~$17. I have even tried some of the 3rd party knock-off inks (real cheap)and they look just as good. I can not find a flaw with this machine. I figured a ~$50 printer would have $30-$40 ink cartridges (Dell) but I have seen the BCI-24s everywhere and Canon paper is great quality and very reasonably priced. I am seriouly questioning ever visiting a photo lab again. If it were not for the demo I would have wrote this off as a cheap printer that produced poor quality prints. I think most all the reviews come to the same conclusion. I have extremely happy with the 4x6, 5x7 and 8x11.5 prints. I would not spend the time to write a review unless I really like or dislike a product, and my choice is obvious.

I am using this lovely printer for about two months. It has given everything you would expect from a printer despite its affordable price so far. Color printing is almost lab quality. Quite fast, easy to handle and maintain. Rest assured, relatively cheaper cartridges wont be pain in the back unlike other expensive printers. Dont let them cheat you with the change only empty cartridge for each color lie. They always all become empty at the same time. As a result, you wont be sorry with this very cute and highly operable printer at all.

I bought the printer as an economical choice, good quality and inexpensive ink, especially from competitors. The ink is what costs. Like gas prices, I need to watch the costs. I believe this model is being discontinued. I have three. Always good to have backups. Two are used in business, one for my daughter in College.

I got this as a cheap backup to my older printer. Im very pleased with this Canon. Set up from the box was super easy. Prints with great quality, a little noisy, but not bad. Ink cartridges are inexpensive and easy to find for this printer. I gave it four stars since it doesnt have a tray to catch your print outs and drops them on the floor instead. Overall, a very good printer.
