> 24 hourI liked this printer at first and actually bought two of them, both an ES30 and ES40. However, since upgrading my Mac to Mountain Lion some six months ago, they have been unusable. When one tries to download a driver at the Canon web site, one gets a message, Content for OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion will be available soon. In the meantime, please use OS X v10.7 Lion content as a possible alternative. This message has been in place for approximately six months. However I cannot install the 10.7 driver in Mountain Lion, as the operating system 10.8 complains that the 10.7 driver is incompatible. I have called the support number at Canon, without success. The support person could give no time frame for the appearance of a new driver, nor even tell whether a new driver will ever appear. This means I have not been able to use my printers for approximately six months. I find totally unacceptable this abandonment--without warning or explanation--of a printer that has very complementary reviews. This experience with this model of Canon photo printer, especially the lack of information or useful help from the support group at Canon, leaves me with grave doubts about Canon products. I plan in the future to purchase no other Canon printer, camera, or other electronic component that requires a Canon software driver to interface with my computers.

> 24 hourI purchased a Selphy and took in on a one-week trip with my Granddaughters through the Pacific Northwest. EAch night we would sit down in the camper and print out our favorite photos of the day and glue them into journals. We had so much fun making multiple layouts ~ great picture quality!

> 24 hourHaving had more than my share of compact ink jet photo printers, I was a little skeptical of the all-in-one cartridge system used by the Selphy ES40. I was also, however, tired of prints never coming out right, paper that was reluctant to feed, near interminable waits, etc. This printer is the modern day equivalent of a Polaroid camera. You just insert the cartridge (for 50 photos), easily select the photo via the dial (which works very much like Canon cameras (or like an iPod, you can spin it or click each of the four directions)), then press the print button. Out comes the picture with no fuss. It wont smudge and watching each color layer appear in succession is interesting, too. Take note: the printer comes with NO paper/ink. You must order it separately. And while the lab will certainly be cheaper, itll also take a lot longer and a trip to the store or waiting for the delivery. We got this printer to replace what Polaroids used to do... quickly print a picture with no fuss. It does that wonderfully.

> 24 hourI just bought this printer last night and I LOVE it. I printed all 50 pictures in the photo pack with absolutely no problem. No, it doesnt come with the USB cord but I just used the USB cord from my old printer and it was a perfect match. I compared the quality with pictures I had printed from Target and they would equal if not better. I wish it told you how many prints you have left before the ink/paper is gone and maybe it does but I havent found the option yet. The ink is a little expensive but I think its so worth it for the convenience. I always have problems at the photolab, from the kiosks being down, to the kiosks not being able to read my memory card or disks, and of course, rude customer service. I took some awesome pictures of my tree and ornaments last year and plan to send them out next Christmas as cards thanks to the postcard on the back of the prints. Anyway, Amazon is selling this for over $200 and I bought it locally at Best Buy for $85.99 and I saw it advertised at Bestbuy.com for only $99. Its only $150 on Canons site. Hope no one pays over twice the price!

> 24 hourI purchased this printer for my girlfriend. Shes not a very electronics saavy person and will usually not even bother to attempt learning about new gadgets. She basically plugged this printer in and was printing in less than 2 minutes. Picture quality was good. Printer speed was average/good so no complaints. The paper/ink combo kits are fantastic. You always have the exact amount of ink for the amount of paper in each package so you never run out of one before the other. Very compact and light weight. LCD screen is a great feature. Overall this is a great printer and very worth your time, epecially for such a great price! MUST HAVE! (Update 4/25/13). I have now owned this printer for over 3 years and its still a fantastic product. The reason Im updating this review is because of the drastic price increase. I purchased this product in 2010 for $50. It is now listed for $350. Its probably worth the money if you have it to waste, but because of the crazy price increase, I would look for something else. Now, If you do decide to buy this product in spite of the price, you wont be disappointed in terms of quality.

> 24 hourUPDATE: They did release an update and it worked with Lion and now works with Mountain Lion. While it took a while to get this update... I am back to printing photos that last and seem to be similar quality to photo processing centers. This printer makes nice presents for my family. Old 1 star review: Very disappointed... Canon does not support its products for very long. While it prints decent quality and was priced fair. Not being able to go from my computer directly into the printer is a big let down. I am using OSX Lion.

> 24 hourJust received this a couple of days ago. Spend the money and purchase this photo printer. Im sort of a challenged person when it comes to setting up electronic stuff. But this was an easy set-up. The prints are comparable to CVS etc. Plus the creative option on this printer lets you do more things to your prints. This has a nice carry handle so you can take it anywhere that has a hook-up for your power cord. The pics are pricier than at CVS but you have the convenience of printing them almost anywhere. Also be smart and buy extra picture pks. This does not come with any. I have a regular size all-in-one printer but for photos only this cant be beat. I have been looking at these for a couple of years now. Our 3rd grandchild is less than a year old and I can immediately print pics right after I take them. Plus we live in an RV nearly 7 months of the year and I now I wont have to wait to get my pics printed. Plus the size of this is very convenient. As a few other people have said, all I can say is WOW. This was one of my best purchases in a long time. I thought I had ordered enough printer pks but now Im going to order more. I do not want to have to search for more in case I run out as well be snow birds heading south in just a few weeks and I want to make sure I have enough pic pks. I have also ordered a similar Selphy printer for a christmas gift and hope she likes hers as much as I like mine. Dont put off ordering one of these and I really recommend the Selphy ES40. To put it simply-its just the greatest. So glad Cannon designed these. Thank-You

> 24 hourThis little printer is a powerhouse! It prints a photo in about a minute and, I have to say, the print quality is phenomenal! Its the closest thing to film print quality Ive seen from a printer. Setup is a snap. you open a cartridge, open the cartridge door on the side of the printer, take out the cleaning cartridge, remove the orange retaining clip from the back of the new cartridge, insert it into the printer and close the door. Now, youre ready to print. Just put your memory card into the printer, select the photos, cropping, effects or frames you want and press the print button. 60 seconds later, you have your print. My only complaint is that the Photo effects, which are available on the printer, are not included in the software for your computer. Oh yeah, While you can hook up a USB cable to your Selphy and print from your computer, you can also use it completely independent of a computer.
