Clover Amour Crochet Hooks - Set of 5 - for Working with Thick Yarns

Great hooks. The best Ive ever used.

I could deal with the fact that these hooks are plastic instead of metal- I assumed it was for the weight. But the handles are not comfortable- they are made of hard, solid plastic, not the same material as the smaller Clover hooks. Disappointed! I love my Clover hooks with metal tips.

These were a birthday gift from my son and his wife. So excited to start creating with them right away. They are light weight with a wonderfully smooth hook and shank. The beautifully colored ergo handles feel very comfortable in my hands. No rough spots to irritate while I am working. They just make me happy to look at. Bright and cheery.

Its unfortunate that these are resin hooks, not the specially coated aluminum the smaller sized Clover Amour hooks are. But they work just fine for me. They arent as buttery smooth to work with like the aformentiomed smaller set and are particularly draggy with other artificial fibers such as acrylic. Overall though, these have a great handle and have a great tip. I was having issues finding a hook tip without such a sharpness to the hook end that keeps the yarn in the groove, as it would always catch on the yarn strands just as I was completing a stitch and it would split the stitch, forcing me to have to angle myself weirdly and working super slowly to avoid doing so. It caused a lot of hand and arm strain, so these are perfect in comparison- not at all like that and the dip isnt so shallow the thicker yarn wont slip off. I definitely prefer the slight drag to hand and arm pain.

Clover hooks are the bomb! Im so glad I found these in the larger sizes.

I havent used these hooks for a project, just practiced a little. They seem as nice and comfortable as advertised, and this set of five hooks is a great cost saver over buying them individually.

I have been crocheting for over 60 years and these are perfect for thicker yarn projects. They are light, crochet smooth with the yarn, no splitting, hands don’t cramp or hurt (which have arthritis), and project can be worked quickly because of the smoothness work with the yarn. I even purchased the smaller sizes to try them.
