The handset plugis into the front. And then you are good to go. Great audio quality, easy to use, very easy to set up and install

> 3 dayIt was nice to open up the box and see this compact CB-- my first impression was -- Its a Cobra-- the top name in CBs back in the old days. I really liked the compact size-- it was easy to find a place to mount it and-- it wasnt so large that you could see it from outside the car. My old CB (in my other car, a 1973 Chevy) and I traveled through day and night - finding like-minded users thru the airwaves on empty highways and was a great 2 am listen-to when I was camping in my car -- the chatter at all hours of the day and night was a wonderful companion. Using this Cobra brought back these great memories from 40 years ago....but... the good old days of CB usage are gone-- I found very few other users in my area. This model is sparse-- fewer buttons, more advanced but it felt a little less user-friendly in that I had more bells and whistles on my old CB. However, Cobra has made yet another good product, in keeping with its good name, the price is ok -- and Im glad this maker is continuing the legend.

> 3 dayInstalled this in place of the original radio on my 1971 Volkswagen Beetle with a custom made mount - this guy is pretty tiny and would imagine it is more meant for vehicles with little to no space under the dash or near the buckle area of a seat. The speaker is bottom mounted and does provide clear enough sound from others where you can hear them over the noise of a rattly old engine. No complaints from others over the radio and asking for a quality check I received a loud-n-clear so I imagine the budget microphone is fine enough for getting the word out. I was surprised since I was worried that the poor electrical system in my vehicle would really hurt the performance of the radio, but clearly not. This is my first personal CB Radio, having only used friends, and from a control perspective, it seems to work fine enough connected.

> 3 dayNice little radio. Problem is that hardly anyone is on the CB radio anymore. I drove for two hours on the interstate and no truckers were heard. Such a shame that those days are gone.

Greater than one weekThe COBRA 19 MINI model is small measuring four inches (4”) wide x four-one half inches (4-1/2”) deep from front of knob to end of heat sink and one inch (1”) high. The front panel LCD Display size is 5/8” High x 2-1/2” wide. A “U” Bracket is included for mounting. The 12Volt cable is fused but only bare wire at end. No 12Volt adapter plug is included with the radio. The microphone is full size i found comfortable to hold and operate. Though small size, the front panel CONTROLS includes - Power/Volume, 9/19 instant access, Squelch and Menu. The Volume control also is used for Channel Control, Squelch/ASQ Control and Menu. The Up/Down button on microphone can be used for some of the functions controlled by Volume knob. The Squelch and automatic squelch (ASQ) both have levels of adjustment plus levels of automatic operation. I like the small size for the flexibility of mounting. I move between several vehicle. Using Hook and Loop wide tape mounting is available where I do not want holes for screws. In both case for me a place on each vehicles center console offers best placement. The microphone lays on console as I did not use its mounting clip. The lightweight and small size affords this capability for my applications. Recommended Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star

Greater than one weekIve got several BIG Cobra radios sitting on the shelf that used to live in my big SUVs... but I miss the access to information on road trips that CB provides when driving my car. This is the perfect solution. Its tiny and when its time to road trip- I simply stick it in the little ash tray area in my car and slap a magnetic mount antenna on the trunk lid. I had to add a cig lighter plug to it- and I really think Cobra missed the chance to make this perfect by not including one. Sure, its best to hard-wire, but many people will be buying this for portability as well. It works well, simple controls and a good price. Too bad all those big chrome Cobra radios with dozens of features are retired now- but small and simple wins in this case, without giving up any range.

> 3 dayNo useful hardware is given. Tried putting this in a small space ( the entire reason I got the unit was to put it in a tight spot and this one is very compact ) and was given 4 screws, some plastic washers, and 2 thumb screws. The thumb screws were far too wide to use in the space, so I had to source my own. The 4 screws were not marked, so I had no idea where to use them or on what, and they didnt have any way of securing the other end of the bracket. Ended up ruining most of my center console trying to put this in. No instructions are provided on the mounting of the radio, simply on its use. Very bad experience.

18-11-2024I received the radio promptly. Well packaged and complete. I installed a cigar lighter plug to the power cord as I hoped to be able to move the unit between vehicles as needed. I connected the antenna, tested the radio out it seemed perfect. Good reception, squelch control and transmitting range. Took the truck on a long trip the next day and the radio would nether transmit or receive. While trouble shooting I removed the antenna connection and the connector on the chassis came right out. Don’t think it was secured to the radio properly. Needed to use tools to remove the radio side of the antenna connector from my antenna. Not a good start. Maybe should have spent more on a well built unit.
