It was exactly what I wanted! Concrete surrounded flame container and it sat on a marble coaster so my table was protected. I was able to burn and eat all the marshmallows I wanted! It was awesome!!!

Its ugly, to be honest, but the reviews on a similar one said it cracked from the heat, and none of the reviews for the Roundfire said that. My first fire went out about 10 minutes ago, and these are my impressions and experiences. I started out with about 1.5 inches of 70% alcohol. It would not light or it immediately went out, so make sure you put enough fuel in. I added more alcohol, maybe 3 inches total. I was able to light it after 5 tries, but that amount only burned for around 20-25 minutes. I should have timed it, so I could say exactly. I had 6 to 8 inch flames, measuring from the top of the unit. There was a good amount of attractive, mesmerizing flames, and it does put out heat to the immediate area. The exterior of the concrete didnt get hot right away, but it did halfway through and is still hot after about 15 minutes. I put it on a silicone honeycomb disc, but no heat transferred from the fake marble base to the disc. Maybe with a longer burn time it would, I dont know. The bottom edge of the marble is ragged, with small chips. I didnt notice that at first. Im not sure if the base will hold up, but you could put the unit on a piece of flat stone of some kind, or some other heat-resistant surface to protect the table you have it on. The bottom line is, I dont think Id buy any of the ones cheaper than this one. If money is tight, this unit probably functions as well as more expensive ones because they all use a stainless fuel cup inside something made of concrete, stone, marble, etc. For double the money, you can get a nice-looking marble one, but I balked because there were several metal outdoor fire pits that cost less than the marble tabletop one. Slightly apples and oranges, but you can get this Roundfire indoor unit plus an outdoor pit around 22 + both for the price of the marble one. While I was writing this, the concrete cooled enough to put my hand around the unit and leave it there. Last thing is the fuel didnt completely consume -- the flames extinguished themselves with about 1/8 inch of alcohol left in the cup. So it seems the alcohol-burners are all about volume. Take care that you follow the instructions to NOT re-fuel while hot! It must cool down first. Flaming alcohol or bio-fuel splattering over you and household surfaces would be very UN-fun. This is going to be true of any of these burners, I expect.

We used as a family for doing indoor smores, worked really well. But at the time I took the steel chamber out, I saw the Crack in the chamber. Not sure worth for the money or may be I got the wrong piece. I am returning this. Its a good concept. But if it cracks during the fire, not feeling comfortable for the safety aspect. I give Sturdiness of the chamber a Zero

What is it about a fire thats so soothing? If youve ever sat around a campfire or gathered with friends at a patio fireplace, you know how the flames draw your eye, the warmth offers security, and conversation springs forth delightfully. Despite its tiny size, this tabletop firepit offers up the same benefits of a traditional social fire gathering. As a centerpiece it becomes a focal point and stimulates feelings of warmth and camaraderie. Bring out the marshmallows and you have a fun and easy dessert that brings smiles all around! A small item that brings big satisfaction. This is one holiday purchase for which there are no regrets!
