Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2021 | Video Editing Software with Hundreds of Premium Effects | Slideshow Maker, Screen Recorder, DVD Burner [PC Disc] [Old Version]

Bought this (Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2021) in spring of 2022 from Amazon. Tried a number of times to install it. Contacted tech support via chat numerous times and got at least 3 different techs. It seems that tech support comes from some business other than Corel. Tried both disc and download versions numerous times. Always encountered 3 or 4 error messages along the way but installation continued until the 4th or fifth error message. Then installation stopped. Error Messages gave no details or codes - only said to contact tech support. During installation of both disk and download my AVG antivirus informed me that the program was trying to install the Win32/Heri virus. I told the program to ignore (not download) the virus although later I allowed the program to download it thinking maybe that was why the Corel program wouldnt install. After contacting Corel we started cycling through the same 4 or 5 solutions. None of them worked. In the meantime I kept receiving emails asking if the problem had been solved. When I clicked on the reply button IMBEDDED IN THEIR EMAIL it went to a website which stated that the website was no longer in use but gave no further instruction!!!! GOODBYE COREL. I LOVED YOU AND 3 OF YOUR PROGRAMS FOR YEARS BUT YOU HAVE TURNED INCOMPETENT. FOUR MONTHS OF FUTILE EFFORT, A PROGRAM WITH A VIRUS AND A DEADEND WEBSITE IS ENOUGH!

Im a beginner so it took some time to figure out. I still havent figured it all out yet. I guess if you have the experience it would be great but it tuff on a newbie. Not sure if I like or not.

I have Video Studio X10 and have tried to purchase VS 2022 upgrade twice now and had to get refunds because the program just wont download on my windows 10 machine. Tech support had me deleating C++ files and doing registry edits, oh my. Ive tried to stay in the Corel family but unless it becomes available on a disk, Id say stay away. Other reviews might cover the content but I cant even DL it. I had Pinnacle before but it is download only and Corel download system is broken.

Ive used Corels Pinnacle on Windows XP then moved on to Vista with Video Studio 2018 and Windows 10 with Video Studio 2019. Those products performed adequately, but the rendering took forever and .MOV video from my Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera was a problem. Furthermore, Video Studio 2018 and 2019 lacked the smarts to take advantage of high performance Graphic Processor Units from Nvidia and AMD. Im happy to report Video Studio Ultimate 2021 solved those problems! After installation I took a video project that took well over an hour to render with Video Studio 2019 on my high performance workstation where my AMD Radeon GPU was essentially 0%. Running Video Studio 2021 it took just a few minutes to render and my AMD Radeon GPU utilization was 90% to 100%, so all those 32 graphic core processors were getting used. The Video Studio 2021 install was simple and it automatically activated the AMD GPU and set the proper memory interface window into the AMD Graphic Memory. The .MOV file format problem from DSLR cameras (at least my camera) has been solved. Now I can import video files without conversion. This saves a ton of time. The only thing that I could not get working was direct capture from my DSLR into VS 2021. This could be do to the fact that my DSLR shows up as a mobile device in the operating system device list and not as a camera. The camera works fine in Zoom sessions and DSLR application software so I know the driver is fine and working. This is not a show stopper since I have simple work around solutions. I suspect if Video Studio knew where to look for the device under mobile devices all would be fine. For me a wonderful improvement over VS 2018 and 2019.

I have better video editing apps. You cant do more than one thing on this at a time or it gets glitchy. You can add music to videos.

**Editing to one star after trying to edit 2 videos on it. Its SOOOO buggy....I about through my laptop against the wall. The lag time from clipping and previewing so you can continue editing and see if/where you need to clip more freezes ALL THE TIME. So you end up having to replay the same little 5 second clip segment 80 times and go back at least 20 seconds to get it to play without freezing so you know where to stop and clip again. Its maddening. Will be exclusively using premier elements from now on. At least it doesnt freeze. So, initially I thought I was going to love this more than adobe premier elements. It seemed a little more straight forward and easier for a beginner, like myself, to use. However, its super buggy. You accidentally click a wrong button and all of a sudden your video preview screen and your file screen are in 2 separate places, or the video screen shrinks very small. Adjusting audio is not as easy as it is on premier elements. I do like the sound files a little more on this one (they have single cartoon like sound effects you can add), but you cant just click to play a sample....you have to click the audio clip, then hit play on the video preview screen (which doesnt sound like a lot, but it is when you just want to quickly hear each file). Adding text and graphics is also hit or miss with both programs for a novice user. One feature I do like is that you can directly upload to your youtube channel from the program when finished editing.

Installed easily and comes with great tutorials. Was able to start using immediately and created a video with sound and moving slides within an hour.

Thank heavens I downloaded the trial version. This program crashes constantly. I searched YouTube (lots of people with the same issue), and even tried some recommended fixes. I might have a good day, no crashes, and get some confidence in the product. Then the next day, the program closes itself. I have a fairly new computer, and keep up with my updates. Now Im trying to uninstall. I go through the Settings App, to Corel. If I chose uninstall, it defaults to repair. That is my only choice, repair or back. Ive moved on to Cyberlink Power director. As a Photoshop user, there is a bigger learning curve moving to Power Director, but it hasnt crashed in the two weeks Ive been using it. Still unable to uninstall Corel.
