Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)

Had an issue with delivery and Amazon fixed it instantly. Had me one at my door on a SUNDAY. Great product and works amazing.

This is probably good memory but it is NOT compatible with the Asus Rog LGA1151 Maximus X Hero motherboard. Amazon offered this memory with said motherboard and an Intel Core i7-8700K processor with the representation sold together It seemed to me that the pins on this DIMM were not long enough to reach the bottom on the memory slots on the said motherboard. At any rate the motherboard presented with Q Code 53 which means memory initialization failure or incompatible memory. I was close to RMA-ing the whole kit and caboodle but I did not think that would be fair so I have another system with Corsair Dominator Platinum DIMMS. Each was good for 4GB so I swapped out the Vengeance DIMMS for a Dominator Platinum DIMM and joila! The system booted! So I ordered 16GB of Dominators, installed them and am living happily ever after. Amazon should check the compatibility of components before recommending they be sold together! Be aware that motherboard manufacturers usually publish a Qualified Vendors List for memory. Many system builders ignore the list and do not have problems but sometimes one can have bad luck as I did with the Vengeance DIMMS. It just so happens the Dominator DIMMS are on the Qualified Vendors List for the Asus Maximus X Hero!

The description says its a C16 Part which would be decent, but it is in fact a C18 Part. CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18

I can say that I have purchased many Corsair products and I know nothing about their customer support, as the products have worked every time without issue, and have never failed. If the price is even close, go this way.

Product did not reach rated speeds under any clock setting. Would only post on 2400mhz.

Pretty hard to mess up. RAM doesnt need to be absurdly fast and lol @ overclocking it. Also, RGB lights dont belong on RAM. Sorry.
