> 3 dayPEI has become my favorite surface to print on. I prefer the textured PEI as it seems to have a bit more adhesion and leaves a nice pattern on the bottom of the print. This Creality sheet has a ton of adhesion at first. In fact, maybe a little too much right away. You dont want to embed plastic into it, that print might be difficult to remove. Fortunately, you can flex the sheet which pretty much ensures that it will come off. (put it in the freezer for 10 minutes if you need to) I use isopropyl alcohol on mine when they are cold. (dont use it when it is hot, that is probably bad for it) After a few prints, the adhesion is a bit less, which is good in my opinion. I prefer the Biqu PEI sheets over the Creality because they seem to stay looking better longer and the first print doesnt stick as much as the Creality end. (it seems more durable) The Biqu completely lets the print go when it is cold. I embedded plastic in my Creality sheet and I was able to get all of it out with isopropyl. The downside of PEI (especially the Biqu) is that if you have resume on power loss or out of filament detection and the printers bed cools down on you, the print is likely to float around or completely come loose. (glass tends to keep it in place but prints are harder to remove) For now, Im sticking with PEI. This sheet is my go to sheet when I am having trouble with adhesion on the Biqu sheet. That little extra adhesion can make a difference on some prints.

> 3 daysimple Bed Upgrade to provide you with a textured surface to allow for better adhesion. Once you are done printing the surface lifts off and flexes to allow for easy part removal. One issue I had was that it didnt index back on very well, so it would be crooked. While this didnt effect printing, it did bother me

Greater than one weekI chose this textured PEI sheet to use with my Ender 3 V2. Ive previously tried several different types of build plates on my Ender 3V2 including glass, spring steel, and smooth PEI. Upon opening the box i was surprised to find that this was actually a Creality branded product. Inside the box it came with the build plate itself which is one side Textured PEI, on the other side steel. Additionally a 3m sheet that is one side adhesive and one side magnet for mounting the build plate. I already had a magnet on my printer so i just went ahead and placed the pei sheet on my existing one. I releveled my printer than started to print immediately. I did several small prints and each print stuck to the build plate. Some of them stuck a little too well and took a bit of effort to remove. I did 4 prints, no cleaning in between each print, except to remove left over pla, and overall had no issues with prints sticking. Of my experience with different build plates, i prefer a smooth pei sheet as my prints would stick to those but not to the point where it takes much effort to remove. I was also a bit disappointed that the other side wasn’t a smooth pei instead of steel.

> 3 dayThis build plate is an ender brand plate. Its coated only on one side where some other brands are PEI coated on both sides. I like the two sided coating in other brands since its essentially two plates. The steel side of this sheet has little appeal to me. Adhesion is good but it does leave a texture on the surface of the item. The ender glass plate leaves a beautiful smooth surface but is much harder to get good first layer adhesion. Ive had some issues getting thin layers off of this plate. Its really only an issue if you have to cancel a print right away or use rafts. I find that printing thicker rafts or printing a couple of layers on top of the stuck item is all it takes to build it up enough to peel off. Dont try to scrape with that little putty knife Ender includes.

Greater than one weekThis is a nice bed and far superior to the stock Ender 3 bed. Everything sticks like glue and removes easily, with the exception of TPU. Ill have to try some white glue or hairspray with that next time but to PLA and PETG, prints stick well and pop off pretty easily.

18-11-2024Im a newbie to the digital printing hobby. Sometimes I dont even know what my problem is or what questions I should be asking. But one thing is clear: getting the 3D printed object to release cleanly is paramount, matched by the need to have it initially stick to the plate. Two opposite traits needed from the same surface. This plate does a good job with both, if you use PLA or PETG. Its a great and, might I add, a necessary upgrade. This is the plate that should come with the unit.

> 3 dayThis print surface has fantastic adhesion qualities. It’s been wonderful for my silk PLA and even some PETG prints I’ve done on it. However, I did a large 25+ hour print on it with a matte PLA and the filament fused to the surface. Flexing didn’t help to remove it. Freezing didn’t help. Freezing and flexing didn’t help. Eventually, the print (literally) broke off leaving much of the first few layers on the PEI sheet. I haven’t used it since because I can’t figure out how to clean the stick-on filament off. Plus the long print that was ruined is really frustrating. But again, the surface has been really incredible up until this happened.

> 3 dayThis textured bed works great as long as you dont want to switch back and forth between bed types. The adhesive was pretty easy to put on. It took be a couple of tries but it was not hard to reposition. Its stuck firmly now however so there wont be any removing of the magnetic plate, at least not easily. The textured plate is easy to get on and off and not particularly hard to line up. So far the prints are sticking to the bed well but come off without much fuss. The one issue I may have with it is that I am no longer able to use the glass bed at all. With the magnetic piece on the holding clips will not fit the bed anymore and I havent seen any that will. (with some searching Im sure I can find a fix for the issue. I havent put much effort into it. It was just something I noticed and wanted to mention)

> 3 dayI am a 3D printing enthusiast. Im always looking for ways to make my 3D printing setup even better. Ive never used anything else except the magnetic build surface that came with my 3D printer, so I was interested in trying out this steel bed. This 3D printer bed comes with two parts. The steel printing surface and a magnetic sheet with an adhesive backing. This adhesive magnetic sheet is nearly identical to the one that comes with the Ender 3 Pro. And because I have an Ender 3 Pro, I didnt have to use the magnetic sheet. The steel printing surface stuck onto my existing magnetic bed just fine. The steel is a lot stiffer than the magnetic printing surface that comes with the Ender 3 Pro. The steel surface also has a courser texture than the stock magnetic surface. Both the stiffness and course surface made getting consistent prints easier. With the steel printing surface, I had to worry less about unevenness on the surface, and parts seemed to stick better. Removing parts from this surface is easy. A little bend pops the part right off. Im very pleased with this product. However, I wish the surface itself was just a touch bigger. The steel surface is almost exactly the size of the magnetic surface, this makes lining up the steel surface with the magnetic bed difficult. I kept wishing I had just a couple more millimeters all the way around. Given that I rarely print to the edge, I simply shifted the entire plate to the left just a little to catch the plastic primed from the nozzle. Overall, this is a solid upgrade from the stock magnetic build surface. Im glad I picked it up.
