I had purchased a deep cut blade with housing that was advertised as compatible with the Cricut Maker, it wasnt. After discussing my problems with the Cricut Help Line I was convinced that Cricut brand was what I needed. I am so happy that I made that decision. Works with no problems.

I was trying to cut 1.5mm basswood (not even the thickest material this knife is supposed to be able to cut) and everything was going fine until there was a jolt. A couple minutes later and theres another jolt. I check it only to see two pieces of blade laying on my project. The housing kept going even though it wasnt cutting at all anymore.

It has yest to cut through any type of wood or any product cricut says it should. It takes hours to cut and usually destroys what you are trying to cut. Ive tried for weeks with different typed of material. Currently its working on chipboard. Its been cutting for 24 hours. Nothing is quick, and thats OK, I have multiple machines. I tried 2 days ago, got down to 10 minutes left and everything was torn up. I had to trash it.
