Using an older laptop that did have Windows 7 on it. HP Pavilion DV7 6163CL. Installing the Crucial 480GB SSD was real easy. I booted up with a DVD Linux Mint Cinnamon 19 .ISO file. Installed fairly quick. Boot up time way less. Apps load way faster. The old hard drive was only a 3GB/Sec 5400 RPM drive. So a huge boost in performance. Plus Linux Mint has three version to install depending on how old your system is. Cinnamon being the most popular but also using the most resources. I was told I should try the Xfce OS which has less resource demand better for older computers. Real happy with the upgrade

Later discovered that Crucial SSDs are a bit slow (from a Samsung user) but I put this ssd into an old laptop running Windows 8.1 on top of Vista. It has definately improved the boot up time and response time of most actions on the laptop. Not sure by how much but definately it is now quicker. I originally bought it to replace the HD on a laptop with a Linux distro but found it was easier to clone the HD of the Windows OS so put it on that laptop instead. Overall Id say this is a cheap and easy upgrade for an old slow laptop.

Ich kriege die SSD auch nach vielen Versuchen nicht im Ahci-Modus ans laufen. Auch nicht bei einer kompletten Windows 10 Neuinstallation. Die Platte kann nur im IDE-Modus booten. Nach ein wenig Googlen hatten wohl schon einige das Problem. In dem PC, in welchem die Festplatte jetzt verbaut ist, habe ich schon einige SSD (zB von SanDisk) im Ahci-Modus betrieben

have had no problems with this ssd,for the price it is a great harddrive and boots windows fast,would buy more for sure.

Sotto consiglio di un amico ho comprato questo SSD per montarlo su un vecchio PC per provare a ripristinarlo.
