Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s - CT500MX500SSD1(Z)

Installed on late 2012 Mac mini. Good performance. The major headache was cloning which failed with this drive and the Mac disk utility 3 times. Carbon copy failed as well. The drive does not come with any tools so for Mac users it can be a little more effort that PC/ windows. Finally super duper saved this drive from the Amazon return box.

Buon prodotto, non dei più veloci ma fa bene il suo dovere. Montato su macbook pro, ha dato una svolta in termini di velocità e prestazioni generiche, compresa batteria e riscaldamento. Istruzioni per il montaggio un po misere, dovrebbe essere accompagnato da istruzioni per la clonazione del vecchio hd interno, o per la reinstallazione del sistema operativo, che comunque non è da tutti.

My old boot SSD was nearing capacity and a replacement was required. This came highly recommended from multiple sources and has proven its worth. The boot time has decreased from 7.8 seconds to 6.6 seconds which may not seem like much of a difference but it has been noticeable

Comprato per sostituire il disco meccanico in un portatile. Sostanzialmente questo SSD è esattamente quello che serve a tutti: il montaggio è semplice e molto intuitivo, apri il pc e lo infili; le prestazioni ovviamente sono pazzesche se paragonate alla tecnologia precedente e quindi soddisfacenti per tutti quelli che non hanno bisogni veramente particolari. Capacità, velocità e affidabilità sono al top, così come il rapporto qualità prezzo. (ah anche il consumo energetico è molto minore, quindi batterie dei portatili avranno un bel boost di autonomia).

Bought this drive in October 2018 to replace an ageing HDD drive. So I thought Id join the 21st century and buy an SSD after all the hype around them. May have been a mistake though. Windows 10 has started to run a repair on boot-up every time I switch on the system. According to Crucial Storage software the drive is supposedly 97% healthy. Im now conflicted, do I carry on with the annoyance of a repair at boot-up (which can be skipped) or do I replace under warranty, which would be inconvenient, as this is my current boot drive. I dont have another SSD to clone/copy the system to. Six months isnt long for a drive to start failing. May just get a refund to buy another brand of SSD or return to HDD again. Its reminded me to investigate the market thoroughly before buying into the latest trends. This is just my experience of this drive. Others my have had no problems. Disappointed more than anything else.

Non è il primo Ssd di questa marca che acquisto, mi trovo bene sia in termini di prezzo che di performances! Lo consiglio sia per Mac che per Pc

Avevo già comprato altri Crucial più piccoli e questo si è dimostrato addirittura migliore.

Questo SSD è stato installato in sostituzione del HD presente in un vecchio portatile con Win 7 del 2011. Il PC era dotato di 4GB RAM per cui è stata anche inserita una scheda di memoria aggiuntiva per portare la RAM a 8 GB. Lespansione della RAM è indispensabile per ridurre laccesso allo swap space sul disco in quanto gli SSD sono meno tolleranti verso questo tipo di attività di lettura/scrittura che potrebbero portare a un invecchiamento anticipato del device.
