The performance of this hard drive is just as it claims. It is fast. Having used M.2 drives all the time of various brands, and loading Windows OS and Microsoft applications, this one outperformed all the others used in the past. What typically would have been a larger app install taking minutes, this drive handled install in a significantly less amount of time.

Expect atleast a thermal pad with such an expensive product. Other things are excellent.

I picked this 1tb drive up for around £80 when the stars were aligned to install in the playstation 5. This one, on paper, is a bit slower than the WD Black SN850, or the Samsung 980Pro. I was fussing over details about which of the compatible ssds out there were the fastest. I shouldnt have wasted so much time on the decision.

If you bought a laptop with less storage, this m.2 SSD will be an excellent upgrade. I bought the 1TB version to add into a new Dell Inspiron 16 Plus. This particular laptop came with a 1TB storage for the operating system, but has an additional slot for a m.2 2230 form factor. PLEASE NOT that 2230 slot is limited by the size of the SSD and may not have enough room to install a 2280 (which this Crucial is). For the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus, I was able to still install the 2280 into the 2230 slot, at an angle, held down by tape. It sits across the WiFi module, but it does still work. Im able to still get the full speeds of this card.
