Greater than one weekAfter accidently dragging/grinding my existing safety chains I decided to change to coiled safety cables. I really like how they stay off the ground. While I was at it I also added Curt 81830 17/32-Inch Certified Trailer Safety Chain S-Hook with Latch, 7,600 lbs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LOI6EM/ to the loop ends. They exactly match the factory installed ones on the cables. Its a bear to close them onto the cable though. I used a six inch heavy duty bench vise with a cheater bar to squeeze them closed. I took the opportunity to modify the mounting point on the trailer as well. These Curt products were the perfect options for the upgrade. Even though the coiled cables seem thin compared to the very stout s-links, they are certified to 7500 pounds.

> 3 dayI purchased these because the ad said 44 inches long. since i have already cut the ties and removed them from the card which says 40 INCHES and they are a bit short i will keep them. This is why the two stars. They would have been easy to install except that now I have to get chain and use a short piece of it to make them long enough to work. DESCRIBE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY OR DO NOT ADVERTISE IT AT ALL.

> 3 dayThese are solid and very heavy duty cables for your trailer. I look forward and will feel safe knowing this is backing up the hitch.

> 3 dayI borrowed a friends trailer, but his saftuy chain was really UNsafe! I decided to replace his cjhains with these safety cables, which i have on all my trailers. They stay off the road, with NO dragging and do not bind when backing or turning. Safety and convenience!

> 3 dayThese cables are the perfect substitute for safety chains on any pulled trailer. They eliminate chain dragging on the road, so they dont wear through. They also keep tension on the hooks so they wont fall off. The curly cord effect keeps the safety cable out of harms way and makes sure they are ready for use when you need them. I own several trailers that I rent out and these have eliminated my need to replace chains that someone didnt hook up correctly and dragged on the ground.
