Ive looked high and low for comfortable cushioned socks that are not made of wool. Wool hurts my feet. Until now, everything else not made of wool seems designed to chafe the foot despite descriptions of being anti-blister. These are the first socks Ive found with tightly knit cushioning that actually feels pretty soft against my sensitive foot instead of almost like sandpaper. It also does not have other roughness element inside the sock such as excess thread between knitted elements or a knitted logo in the foot bed (even Smartwool socks, that I used to be able to wear, havent figured out that knitting their logo into the foot bed can be felt by a sensitive foot). As a bonus for me, these socks are keeping my feet pretty cool and dry compared to socks I had been wearing. After trial runs with a couple of pairs of these socks, Im buying more. Ill pay the higher price for these. Less expensive socks are poorly made and hurt my feet.

I’d like to thank these socks for making my non stop hiking trip possible. I’m so wary about reviews but 14 miles, 9hr hike into the Grand Canyon in 103 degrees then a over a full week of daily multiple hikes, miles a day in Sedona I’m in love. My feet where cool in 104 degrees, comfortable and did cringe every day I put them on. Zero blisters, zero pain. I’m so happy I invested in these. Once your feet hurt during a long hiking trip you’re done. Can’t wait to buy another pair!!!!

Having just thrown my last pairs of Bridgedales and Point 6 socks in the bin as they’d worn through I thought I’d give this brand a go. As well as for use with my hiking boots/approach shoes I also wear outdoor socks instead of slippers so they do get lots of wear. Fit is good, I’m an 8-8.5 so ordered the LG (7.5-9) and they fit my foot well and there’s a slight grip around the mid foot/instep so they don’t move around. No loose threads on the inside and seams are flat so in my boots they feel good. In comparison to the other brands mentioned they’re not quite as soft which is fine by me if they’re hardwearing, although they do soften up after first wash. Also they are slightly more expensive and have found them cheaper via Google. However the fact they have an unconditional lifetime guarantee makes these a no brainer purchase as you just send them back to the uk distributor and they send you a replacement pair. So if I switch to this brand I shouldn’t have to buy anymore socks when they wear out. Only time will tell how they feel as they wear but so far I love them and they have some great designs and colours. Going to order more and a couple of thicker pairs for the chilly season.

Didn’t realize how some socks are SO much better than others! I think these socks are expensive, but they’re worth it! I’d been having trouble with my socks rubbing my toes raw when hiking or going for long walks, tried one company’s who advertises not having a seam in the toe, but they did have a seam and they were so thin! After doing more research I found Darn Tough, and these socks are so comfortable even on long hikes, or just wearing all day! No more raw toes from the seam rubbing on the ends of my toes. These have a seam but it’s placed in a different area than most socks. These socks have a lifetime warranty too, plus they’re made in the USA! Customer Service at Darn Tough was excellent! Try a pair, check Darn Tough’s website to make sure you’re getting the right size first. They have sizes for men and women, and I believe they have children sizes too, but you’d better check that to be sure. So I’m in the process of buying a pair of socks once a month until I have enough for at least 7 days. Yeah, expensive but definitely worth it!

Love these socks! They are my favourite pair for long distance hiking. Everyone’s feet and boots are different, but these worked best for me. Definitely worth the high price tag. I’m interested to see how long wearing they are over time.

These socks are well worth the money. I used them for hiking in Ireland and they were super comfortable. I wore them at least 2 days and they never were stinky. Never got a blister! Sizing was accurate.
