DO NOT BUY!!! This is NOT a true 144959 belt. A 144959 belt is 95.5” long where this one is only 96” long!! Not only will it be extremely difficult to install but it will be so tight that your mower deck will not turn off. This product needs to have its product code changed because IT IS NOT THE CORRECT LENGTH. Installed and made one pass on my lawn and the belt snapped. If you know you need a 95” belt then this will work for you but if you need a legitimate 144959 belt BUY ELSEWHERE!!!

The belt is measuring 94 1/2

For some reason the belt is a little too tight even though I measured when I took my old belt off and it seem the same size and its hard to engage my blades even though they mandrills spin freelee and Ive got my spring hooked to the mandrel stoppers

This belt worked perfect. Make absolutely sure you install the belt correctly - use belt guide diagram on mower. Most mower decks have two idler pulleys. One is used to adjust static belt tension and will lock into place with wrench. The other pulley is attached to the mower engagement lever. When installing belt over engine pulley, use a socket wrench to rotate engine when installing onto engine pulley - its a very tight fit. For the first 20-30 minutes of mowing the blades may rotate without engaging the lever, this is normal. After initial break-in (30-40 min of mowing), the engagement lever can be used as normal and mower blades will stop rotating when dis-engaged.

The belt I received is as described nice and blue with a clearly visible size indicator printed on a label on the side of the belt 95 x1/2. Came in a non see through white plastic pouch. Powered through tall grass where the prior belt just couldnt cut it any longer - in the literal and practical sense of the word.

It’s a good replacement

Ordered multiple belts, for my mower, and my neighbors mower. My mower has been used for about 8 hours total since installing these belts, and theyre falling apart. Ive had this mower for a decade, and I replace belts every 2 years. Ive NEVER had a problem previously, these are just pure junk.

Easy to install. Fits perfectly

Ordered this in August, seemed to fit well, cut about a half acre worth of grass every other week since installed. Today, out if the blue it just completely shredded. Never had a belt do that. I’ve had them smoke and then start slipping but never seen this.
