24-11-2024After 4 months of very light use; BIOS Bot error crashed hard drive. Piece of junk It was big, heavy and lunky. Touch screen was nice. Picture was average. Waste of $$$, Only computer guy in town quoted $189 to run diagnostics and $40 for new hard drive and that is IF they could. They tried to reinstall Windows without success. This is the 3rd Dell I have had that has lasted less than 18 months. Keep looking.

> 3 dayI got this discounted, so maybe shouldnt be critical, but it is slow, and the other day the battery went down. I plugged back in and it wouldnt come on for a long time. Not sure the issue, but then it finally came back on. It took many attempts to get the power back on.

> 3 dayNo touch screen, that’s ok, you will have warning come up after starting due to the power charger pack. It needs a larger power pack charger. The one I have is to weak.

Greater than one weekI’m always hesitant with purchasing electronics on any marketplace (I.e Amazon ) but everything is perfect and exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s worth the money you’ll spend on it for sure! If you’re anything like me I know you have to scroll through a few more reviews to be convinced but trust me when I tell you if ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING was wrong from the time I purchased to the time I received my laptop I would say it. It also came super quick.

> 3 dayI did not discover until I got through setup that this machine has Windows 11 Home installed, not Windows 10 as advertised. That matters because Windows 11 may not work with some of my legacy apps on a hardware platform as limited as this. There was NO indication on the box or the machine itself as to which version was installed. It even arrived without ANY paperwork inside the box, not even a rudimentary setup guide. Also, the product description page shows a 500 GB HDD in the specs (twice, plus in answer to a user question); and there is clearly no mechanical drive in the unit, only the 128 GB flash drive. For the price I did not expect miracles, but I did expect to not be so flagrantly misled about I would be receiving.

> 3 dayThe Dell model 3583 is specified (Dell Specs p.12) with an 8th generation Intel core i3, i5, or i7 CPU. I suspect due to the chip shortage Dell was forced to dive into the ol parts bin and ship this particular 3583 with an older - and MUCH lower specs - Pentium Gold 5th generation CPU with limited cache. To try to compensate, Dell also shipped this unit with a M.2 SSD rather than the specd spinning HDD. That was very good of them. But the mis-match seems to be creating some lag in getting things done, although not critical. I may (probably) be wrong about this, but then Im not a computer whiz. It would be great if Dell eventually tracked this order and in future shipped us a comparable Core i3 CPU with a realistic cache. Hey, I can dream! In addition - 3583 comes specd with Win 10 Home (not S mode). S mode sucks and the time it takes to dump it is a pain. 2cts.

> 3 dayFirst thing to know is that this is a 2020 model and Dell warranties are expired. I ordered this product twice. The first time, I received an Inspiron 3510, which had a slower processor and only one ram slot. Second order, the correct model was delivered, but product details indicate this PC has BOTH a 128 GB SSD and a 500 GB HDD. It has only the 128 GB SSD. Sellers response was that this was a typo despite it being in several places on this listing (and this model PC CAN have both). They offered a $10 credit, which is laughable considering its missing an $80 part. Its being returned and Im done here. Note: the listing has since been modified to take out a few of the references to a 500 GB HDD (I believe this was done at my own request during a customer service call--seller did not seem to care) but it still appears there at least once as of 9/20/22.
