The hook on the bottom is awesome. It’s the little things like that which separate a good tool and a great tool. This is a great tool. Recently cleaned out the shed and made it my tool storage shed. Except putting everything away in the dark with even a nice flashlight was a PIA. I lived with it but recently needed a new 6$ light bulb for my trusty, if corded and hot old Stanley work light but I let myself look around and the hook on this light sold me since I needed a ceiling light in the shed. As far as a work light the tripod that you buy separately would come in handy for those of us who do most of our work outside. I haven’t pulled the trigger on that but next time I have need for a good deal of evening work I probably will. As far as the included tool connect feature my issue with that whole system is it needs a beeping function for when you’re looking for your tool. That would make it a worthwhile system and I’d probably have it on most of my tools, but listing an address where my tool is isn’t super helpful unless someone is stealing your stuff. And my issue isn’t theft it’s forgetting where I laid something.

Family got this for me. I use it to light up our bonfire area. Also you it at our Boy Scout campout. Walking in the dark woods, it light up the camp site so you know were to go. Dewalt did a great job on this!!

Light works well and light is very generous and is very pleasing. What boggles my mind is that in the warning section of the manual; it says to not expose to light rain or snow. The outdoor rating of IP54.. This means a level of protection of dust and water ingress. (water ingress:: will resist splashing water). I dont know about you dewalt; but the majority of people dont have the opportunity to work inside. I guess I should have done my homework a bit more to find a light that works outdoors. My solution for me is that I purchased those hat umbrellas. Now we are rain resistant. Now I am IP 51..

Arrived today: This thing is very bright on highest setting. * place it up high, out of direct eye sight for best illumination and not to temp blind you :). Low setting is great for other (non) work site applications. I can not review on battery life as of yet, but it seems very versatile and durable in construction.

So if youre like me and have a handful of Dewalt tools, chances are, you also have a handful of Dewalt batteries as well. The tools were used intermittently so most of the time the batteries just sat on my shelf undisturbed. So I figure I should get some 20 volt Dewalt tools to maximize battery use and justify purchase. So I bought this light from right here on Amazon. Since owning, I have used this blinding light for fixing cars, gardening at night in the Summer time, night fishing and camping. The only time I had to change out the battery was when it was used for camping. It outshined all of my friends Coleman propane lanterns combined on high mode. There were 5 of them. With a 6ah battery, on medium, it lasted pretty much from dusk till wee hours of the night. The battery was not completely out but I switched it out anyhow. I placed an 8ah battery and it lasted till the next morning. The only issue is the weight. Since its kind of heavy, it cannot be placed onto a Coleman lantern stand. However, I solved that issue by using a camera light C-Stand which I already own. C-stands are heavy duty and can hold plenty of weight. You can see the Coleman lantern stand and the c-stand next to each other on these images. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the purchase. I bought the Dewalt tripod light and though it is versatile, the light output lags behind this one. The illumination dispersion on this light is also much greater than the tripod light since it illuminates at 360 degrees.

Very bright! Using Tool Connect, you can set on/off schedule throughout the week, track battery usage, light dimmer, and diagnostics. Wouldve been sweeter if it came with a CORDED option. All in all, very pleased Update: 7 MAY 2022 I now have 2 of these going on 3yrs now. I lit up a room roughly 25x30 on high for about 7hrs straight using the flexvolt 9ah battery and 12ah battery. I had to change the 9ah out because it is an older battery. The 12ah had 1 bar left at the end of an 8hr day. IMO, the amount of light you receive depends on several factors. Height of light placement, objects in the direct path of the light, and battery output. If you can factor in these 3 before using it, youll remedy your problems. I have used the tripod mount as well when there was nothing safe to hang from the ceiling, not as bright overall, but sustainable. My preferred method is suspended, works awesome! BTW, not sure if the new 15ah battery will work in thos light. The 12ah barely fit. Hope this helps.

Like using it a lot. Very light and compact to fit in right places. Battery life is ok, usually get 4-6 fully lit hours with a 9ah battery. Also I feel that this is almost indestructible. It’s fallen from the ceiling flat on concrete several times from 8-10ft and no cracks or anything. Love it!
