DEWALT 20V MAX LED Work Light, Compact and Portable, Weather and Dust Resistant, Cordless (DCL074)

This product is expensive and LED light is known for being highly efficient. I am using a flexvolt 60/20 battery with 6 AMPs and the battery goes from full to zero in less than an hour. Whats worse is the thing starts blinking at me for 5 minutes before it dies. I can make 60 cuts through a tree with one of these batteries in my chainsaw but I cant light a room for an hour. I dont understand why the light doesnt last longer.

Batteries don’t last as advertised. But rechargeable so not a big issue.

I own many dewalt cordless tools. Number one they last. Number 2 they just work day after day year after year. It boils down to who you vested in. More me it is dewalt. Your not reading this review though to hear me rave about dewalt. Light is reliable & built well. Read troublesome reviews complaining about humming noises. Flaws happen in every home, vehicle virtually everything. Guess Im just lucky. I have never had any problems with any of my dewalt power tools.

This has been a great addition to my growing DeWalt collection. Its definitely bright enough for most any situation and the way its designed and with the built in hook it is a very versatile as far as placement is concerned. My only complaint is battery life. I like others really didnt think an LED light would draw so much power but its a trade off I guess. Another design feature that would have been nice would be a 110v plug to run it without a battery. Seems like they could have used the same design the small fan uses with a hidden plug behind the battery slot. But with those two complaints this is still a great light and another good DeWalt tool in my lineup.

Great for lighting a 1.5 car garage. Less then ideal for working out side in the dark. But overall very very happy

I use this item to light up a barn that doesn’t have electricity. It is very bright and the light covers a huge space. I like the hook on the bottom to be able to hang it and the ability to set it up right or sideways and it’s very stable.

What can I say, its a Dewalt and another solidly built great product from them. I have used mine now on several projects where I didnt have a lot of light and this fixed that in a hurry. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this light to anyone, its exactly as its advertised to be.

So I’m a bit biased because I LOVE Dewalts cordless line. I’m a professional custom cabinet installer and I am nearly 100% cordless with the exception of my compressor, battery charger, and before today my bright work light. It’s dark when I start work and now it’s getting dark around 4:30 and I usually put on a flood light inside where my chopsaw, tables saw and main work area is. It’s good, but it’s directional meaning it only light up where I point it. This dome light that dewalt has is incredible. It’s 360 degrees of super bright light. I specifically wrote on the title that it’s perfect for indoors and that’s because I took it outside to see what it would do and you have to think of a flashlight versus a light that’s supposed light up everything around it. The light from this doesn’t go out in a focused beam so outside it wouldn’t be very effective . But I had it on inside for a while with all the house lights out and it’s almost like daytime. Truly incredible. There are three brightness levels so battery life will obviously be dependent on what you choose. As far as the buzzing noise, if I’m up close I can hear a slight high pitched buzz but nothing that bothers me. May be a defective unit from the other review I read. These are spendy, but literally in a typical house with kitchen and living room as connect rooms, this thing will light up the entire area no problem. Well worth the money. Another absolutely solid, well thought out product from dewalt.

Good light, works best if you can hang the light from the ceiling. The battery life is about 6hrs on 6amp battery. The light is well built and sturdy can withstand a drop from height.
