Apply the tape in such a direction as that when you screw the socket together, the male socket is wrapped in the direction that does not cause the tape to simply roll up into a tube-ball. This stuff comes with no stickiness. but it handles neatly and is easy to use.

Works well, like other reputable Teflon tape. Good value. Several wraps around 1 inch plastic male nozzle on pond filter connected to corrugated plastic outlet hose, tightened with metal hose clamp, stooped the leak. (Can never remember which direction to wind Teflon tape!!!)
