> 24 hourI remember this stuff from my childhood. Ive heard it referred to as hippy soap. I remember the peppermint tingle. However, it wasnt until 3 months ago that I actually bought my own. I decided to replace my chemical-laden hygiene products with safer ones - relying on the Environmental Working Groups Skin Deep database to guide me to a better place. There were quite a few items that needed to be investigated...I was looking for a price I could afford, high reviews, and low scores on EWGs Skin Deep. So I found body wash, soap, shampoo, dish rinse, laundry detergent, toothpaste...and then I found Dr. Bronners...one product to handle all those tasks. It sure made things easier! Just think about how all of those products are going on your skin at some point...and then being absorbed...multiple times a day, every day, for years...the bombardment of toxic chemicals is crazy and once you start thinking about it you realize how ridiculous our culture has become with no oversight whatsoever. Dr. Bronners carries Champion Status at the Environmental Working Groups website that ranks products based on their danger/toxicity. This means they have signed a pledge to use only the safest ingredients in all their products. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being the safest), this product scores a 1. I think if you averaged the scores of all the products I have replaced with it, youd get about a 5. I now buy it by the gallon and have just purchased my second one (3 months later). Do the math and I think my girlfriend and I will go through about 4 gallons a year with all the uses mentioned here. UPDATE: Maybe down to 2 gallons/year now that I use Dr. Bronners Sal Suds as my laundry detergent instead. DILUTE DILUTE DILUTE Body Wash: The standard dilution here of about 20% soap to 80% water works fine. You can adjust to your liking/lather preferences. I had been using a Dial foaming hand soap in all my rooms and Ive emptied those, cleaned them real good, and converted them to Dr. Bronners foaming dispensers. I love the results. It foams up real good and the lather is good. If you want more, just up the strength (reduce dilution) a little bit. You may find this leaves a little tingle in certain spots that will be extra-noticeable with cold water/air - you may enjoy this or not...either way its certainly not a big deal and you do get used to it. The other thing to get used to is that you wont have that slimy feeling on your skin that weve probably learned to associate with being clean. Thats just the chemicals on your body... Hand Soap: Using the same dilution (20/80) and re-purposed foaming bottles, I keep this in all bathrooms as hand soap. Not much to say here and people compliment me on the smell of my soap...even if they wonder what the heck it is! Dish Rinse: Once again I go with about 20/80 in a squire bottle in my kitchen. Youll be surprised how well it cleans. When you start seeing the bubbles/lather reduce, squirt a little more and keep going. Remember youre never going to get that insane never-ending foam/lather without the harsh chemicals, but youll be surprised with how well it does on its own. I do find that if I wash something and dont rinse it off fairly quickly it leaves behind a little oil that is most noticeable on metallic items...but its organic and safe...and if you just run your sponge over it real quick and rinse, its gone. Not a problem at all. Floor Cleaner: Here I dilute it down to like 5% soap, 95% water. It doesnt leave any residue and cleans up nicely - the smell is good too...and its nice to know Im not just filling the air with chemical fragrances than can linger in my home for days. Shampoo: I keep some in a bottle at full strength and pour about a teaspoon in my hand, rub together a little, then put it in my hair and clean as usual...you probably need more if you dont have short guy hair like me. I might try to dilute this to 50% only because at full strength it likes to clog the little opening of the bottle with dried soap. It cleans my hair well and I follow it up with Dr. Bronner - Organic Shikakai Conditioner Hair Rinse, 8 fl oz liquid. My girlfriends hair did not appreciate this method as much as mine did and so Ive switcher her over to Yes to Cucumbers (or Yes to Carrots) shampoo and conditioner which is great as well! Laundry Detergent: I keep a gallon in my laundry room and put about 1/3 cup for an average large load. I adjust up or down depending on the size. I augment it with some baking soda which is really cheap. At ~$50 per gallon this is more expensive than your typical Tide chemical gallon but once you factor in that you dont really need (or I dont, at least) fabric softener, the price difference is not as large. If you wash with the chemicals you have them on your skin all day long...every time you sweat theyre soaking into your skin...no thanks. UPDATE: I switched to Dr. Bronners Sal Suds. Seems to be a bit more effective and less costly...albeit not quite as organic. Toothpaste: this is the only other time I use the product at full strength - and I may well dilute it a little soon. I like about 3 drops on my wet toothbrush. I know what youre thinking eww, soap in my mouth?! Im not sure how the other scents would work but with peppermint, I had no problem with it. With just the three drops, it foams up quickly and feels and tastes clean. Brush as normal but one warning: dont take forever. Peppermint oil, especially at full strength, can burn your skin a little if left on too long. I find that if I brush for about 1 minute its not a problem at all. Two minutes and my mouth is a little burnt - but its not the end of the world and heals overnight. This is why I am considering going with a 1:1 ratio of soap to water and using like 6-10 drops. UPDATE: I switched to Toms of Maine for toothpaste mostly for the convenience of not having to make my own.

> 24 hourI am very satisfied with the product. Although I didnt feel the tingly, peppermint Pattie experience of wanting to strip naked and run the through the woods until the voices stop like some exclaim it to do, I bought it for one reason and its time to put it to the test. I got this soap because of watching an episode of The Walking Dead. They film this movie out in a very hot climate, I forgot where because I just watched about half the movie, just not a Zombie fan, and they said, To keep the bugs off the actors so they could film was they all used PEPPERMINT SOAP, even the cameramen. I will be putting this to the test this year while planting my garden. Update: This soap will keep off the bugs. Standing beside a friend of mine in the heat of the evening, after a good 2 mile run, and he was swatting the bugs out of his face but not me, I used the peppermint soap the night before. Update:2 It was early spring when the bugs where just starting to come out, now in the summer after using this soap, they are absolutely eating me up, I think I was shafted on this one.

> 24 hourThis is the authentic Dr Bronners Castille Soap. I had the misfortune to buy from another seller a 2 pack of 33oz bottles that were watered down drastically to the point they barely sudsed at all and of course no refund offered. I cant say who since Amazon now censors negative reviews. This product is the authentic formula.

> 24 hourIve been using this soap for over thirty years and it never disappoints. When I need that extra feeling of wanting a clean fresh smell or after a good workout Dr Bronners is my goto. During my shower I use a scrunchy and it latters with just a little drop and it goes a long way. The peppermint scent is refreshing you can definitely feel the freshness as you bathe because it gives you a tingling sensation which absolutely love. Try it you wont regret it

> 24 hourThere is nothing better than smelling peppermint on all of our clean clothes, in our bathroom, and throughout our house - we use this soap for nearly everything! I wash clothes with it in an HE machine and its perfectly fine. I scrub our tumbled marble tile in the bathroom and it elevates my mood so much I dont actually mind cleaning that room. I use it to wash our floors, scrub our sinks, clean my cabinet fronts, wipe down our lawn furniture - essentially everywhere that I would need a soap product to clean it where I use this product. There are many other scents and you can also buy bar soap for the shower (we love the tea tree oil bar soap best or the lavender one for the kiddos) and if your kids ever get lice, I strongly suggest you get a bottle of the tea tree oil castile soap for their heads (after you get rid of the lice it will help keep those buggers away!).

> 24 hourI was first introduced to Dr Bonners Peppermint liquid soap about 1985 and havent looked back since then. To be honest, I think it was much stronger before Dr Bonner passed on and I was always getting positive comments from the ladies about the peppermint aroma. That was a double plus. Regardless, in order to keep the cost of manufacturing down the Bonner family had to do something and over all, they did a great job with the formula in the memory of Grandpa Bonner. So now a days I dont get as many peppermint comments from the ladies but the cleanliness and sqweeky clean feeling are still a hit! And it takes up to two years to use up a stick of deoderant because Dr Bonners really eliminates the need for such products. I buy a gallon at a time, pour some into a 24 oz container which I then use to fill a small 99 Cent store SPRAY BOTTLE with 1/3 Dr Bonners soap and 2/3 water. Shake it up and voila! I use one spray for the hands. One spray for the face. Two sprays to latherup for a fresh shave and 3 sprays on my wash brush for a good shower. Afterwards I dont feel that Dove soap lotion feeling on my skin. It is more like a window feels when it is absolutely dirt free. Once in a while Ill use a cap full with a load of laundry just for the heck of it. I once heard that many cleansers break down the dirt. Dr Bonners carries it away.

> 24 hourI believe that this is one of the best soaps on the market. It does strip the oils, so you may have to use a bit of coconut oil afterwards if using it as a shampoo. I also use this to make shaving cream, so it is extremely versatile. Although this may not be the least expensive method of purchasing this product, this seller does make it easy as I get home from work and it is waiting for me. I would highly recommend this soap and this seller. -Josh
