> 24 hourI ordered a BOTTOM TAP. I received an angled spiral cut tap which is not what is described, not what I ordered, and not what the protective box it came inside said it was. I was able to get the job done but had to modify the item I was working on to do so.

> 24 hourI used this to chase threads in blind holes in an automotive cast iron housing prior to reassembly. It did the job I needed and after waiting for more than two weeks for the local hardware to obtain one of these taps, I had this one through amazon to use in two days for slightly less cost.

> 24 hourI used these to prep a new steel bicycle frame derailleur nut. Because the paint was in the threads, I could not properly screw on the derailleur. I used the more blunt one first, as I had already crossed the threads with repeated failed attempts, then I proceed to use the sharper one for a final cleanup. Very effective! Derailleur screwed right in afterwards.

> 24 hourMy first/only use of these so far was to tap some holes in brass, drilled about 1-1.5 inches deep down the length of 2 brass rod (so the holes were not through-holes, and required bottom tapping). These got the job done with no fuss. Mileage may vary on harder metals, but I had no problems getting these holes tapped perfectly in brass with these taps using a little cutting lubricant (did them slowly by hand). For the money, I felt it was good value to get all 3 varieties.

> 24 hourWould not retap nut but it may not be taps fault this was a special type nut, keeping anyway for what ever I may need a big 1 1/4 tap for. Nicely packed in its own plastic box.

> 24 hourI bought the set for a one-time use of this odd size (M13x1.5). Price was right at about 1/3 the cost of other taps but the steel isnt top quality. The worked well to cut the threads I needed in cast 6061 aluminum. They came out clean, sharp and accurate but I dont think the taps will hold up for the long haul. Theyre a very good value for limited use. If you need to cut a lot of threads or plan to keep them for years, youd be better off spending more and getting better quality tools.

> 24 hourYou must choose which type of starter threads is best for your needs. Seven thread taper is for cutting new threads in soft metals, cased iron, or plastic. Use lots of oil. The shorter-length starter tap is best for cleaning existing threads. The super short starter thread tap is for finishing bottoming threads. I showed this tap to my friend that makes taps for a living and he said it looked ok but his stuff was much better and made of M2 tool steel. Then I told him the price and he said no, he couldnt do that for that price. Couldnt even buy the blank steel needed at that price.
