> 24 hourSimple, no hassle, does what I expected. I prefer to plug it into a USB power adapter so not to confuse my simple-minded XP machine regarding an unexpected USB device.

> 24 hourIt just works. what ever ingresses and egresses port 1 will egress port 5. I connect a computer with Wireshark to port 5 and let the fun begin.

> 24 hourPerfect tool, it has saved me a lot of time troubleshooting network issues.

> 24 hourThis thing is cool! A must have for a network engineers toolkit. I cant rely on customers to be able to setup mirror ports, so for troubleshooting this is a great tool. I may only use it once in a while but it will be a lifesaver in the right situation. Ive tested it out and it works as anticipated - especially useful for sniffing VOIP phone traffic with the POE passthrough.

> 24 hourI use it for work and its well worth the price. Dont rely on using the processing power of port mirroring from the device under test. Use a TAP instead to capture the relevant data. I also love the fact that you can power it off a USB port. Although I dont plan on using it, the PoE option was tested on my desk IP phone and worked perfect. If youre working with fiber or theres any chance you will in the future, go for the higher priced model with the SFP option.

> 24 hourPerfect. A little bit more expensive due to its metal casing.

> 24 hour... I think the last time I was this excited about a network device I was 13 years old and my mom got me a 2400 baud modem for my birthday. The unit works exactly as described, it mirrors port 1 to port 5, leaving the remaining 3 ports as regular switched ethernet ports (though port 2 is also the PoE passthrough, which I havent had the chance to test to that extent). It couldnt be more straight forward than it is. The USB power is fairly cool, I can imagine it being very practical when youre near a server rack trying to sort stuff out. Right now Im actually using an iphone wall socket to power the unit since my router and switch is rather far away from my workstations. Works just fine. But I see a soldering iron in my future if/when that cable breaks (still beats scavenging ebay for a compatible power supply, waiting for it to be delivered, etc). The manual is...well...a single page that describes the device. There is no setup instructions or common scenarios, nothing. And thats ok, this isnt for the uninitiated anyway. If you cant figure out how to connect a switch tap youll never get wireshark display filters to work for you anyway... 5 star for price, features, ease of use and I could ding them for the manual, but I wont. Its fine the way it is.

> 24 hourConsidering most search results get you 1Gbps aggregiate taps for $750+ this tap is a steal. This tap works great and its easy to use. The USB power cable is handy and convienent since you dont need to carry a power brick around. In my case I have it mounted on the top of my laptop via velcro.

> 24 hourI do a lot of low level Ethernet packet analysis and this is a simple solution to use along with Wireshark for monitoring network traffic. Since you cant find hubs anymore this is a better solution that a switch which can hide traffic for things other than broadcasts.
