> 24 hourI have a few stick vacs in different areas of the house and this is replacing one of them. It runs about ten minutes on high, which I expected, because all of mine run about that long on high. It doesnt charge as quickly as another that I have, it takes over an hour and a half to fully charge. There is a charging indicator of lights on the side of the handle that shows how far from fully charged it is. Charging is easy just plug into the back of the handle. I do wish it charged more quickly. What I like about this one compared to my others is that the beater brush attachment to vacuum rugs/floor is FAR superior to any that I own. It really picks stuff up! The attachments go on and off easily with the press of a button. This is actually much easier than any of my others. While they all have a button to push, this one I can do with one finger, very easily, to release the attachment. This one is very easy to dump the canister and clean both filters. Very easy. Im on the fence about the trigger. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I dont. To operate this you have to constantly press the trigger. I like it because to stop it if I have to move furniture I just take my finger off the trigger and it stops. Other times I dislike it because, not to be a wimp, but sometimes my finger gets fatigued from pressing it for ten minutes. I know, I know. Maybe theres a way to not have to press the trigger constantly, but I wouldnt know because mine didnt come with any instructions. The suction power is excellent! It also comes with a wall hanger to hold the stick vac and attachments. If it gets clogged it would be extremely easy to dislodge the clog because you can easily access all the parts of the vacuum/hose.

> 24 hourI just got my Dyson V8 in the mail the other day. My son ended up putting it together and he actually vacuumed and cleaned his whole room last night. Thats worth the price right there. (Ha Ha) And he is a teenager. Thats a Win/Win. He loved that the vacuum didnt have a chord and it was easy to carry around. We didnt have to lug our big bulky vaccum out of the closet. I am in love with this vacuum. I am actually excited to clean my house now. Thank you Dyson for such a light weight and compact vacuum that does a better job than other vacuums I have had in the past.

> 24 hourI like that it’s rechargeable. I love the interchangeable parts. It’s very powerful. I use it in the house. My daughter uses it in her car. My Dad has one which is why I purchased it. I love how easy it is to dump the dirt. My first time using I wasn’t aware of the max dirt level. The vacuum started hesitating when it was over the level. Now I know and am attentive to monitoring . I love it.

> 24 hourIve always preferred canister vacuums, because the wand and hose are much easier to move and maneuver, but it can be a pretty big pain to drain around the canister. The Dyson V8 solves that, because its basically just the wand portion of my canister vacuum without a cord or bulky canister unit. Along with the vacuum, you get several accessories: a wall-mounted dock, a crevice tool, a brush tool, an upholstery tool, and the powered floor attachment. The dock has two slots to store the crevice and brush tools, but theres no obvious place to store the upholstery attachment. The wall dock has a cable channel and clip to hold the included charging cable, so that you can just slot the vacuum into the mount for storage and charging. Unfortunately though, the cable isnt easily removable after you attach the dock to your wall, because the cable channel is on the backside of the dock. If you decide not to use the dock, then you can still recharge the vacuum by just plugging in the charging cable. Theres a switch to toggle between normal and high power mode and a momentary trigger switch to turn on the vacuum. The trigger does need to be held down to keep powering the vacuum, but fortunately, it doesnt take much strength to depress the trigger button. The V8 does not have a trigger lock, but a quick search on Amazon shows that there are a lot of third party options to add a lock if you want it. The V8 battery is rated for 40 minutes at normal power, but that drops to 25-35 minutes if youre using the powered floor attachment. In our usage, we found those numbers to be pretty accurate. Thats just enough runtime to vacuum the hardwood floors in our 3-bedroom house. If you turn on the high power mode, the runtime drops to just a few minutes. Unfortunately, the recharge time is 5 hours. You can buy an extra battery, but you wont be able to charge it in the wall dock, so youll also have to get an extra charging cord. Swapping batteries on the V8 also requires a screwdriver to release the battery. The V8 is a really nice vacuum overall, but the limited battery life makes it best to use with smaller spaces or as a secondary vacuum for cleaning up messes.

> 24 hourI got this Dyson v8 to replace my v6 animal and its a great upgrade. I can clean my upstairs and downstairs before the battery dies. It has much stronger suction power and extra filtration. The max mode still runs the battery down faster so I avoid using it unless needed. The dust bin slides out for easy emptying, the vacuum is very lightweight and it can easily clean under tight spaces. Another great vacuum cleaner by Dyson.
