I had purchase the 5 pack and one of the flash drive wasnt recognized on my pc.

Like all USB Sticks you may have to format them first before you can use it - Depending on what you are using them for will determine what format to use - if you are using them for strictly music for your USB capable car stereo then you want to format it to FAT32 - these usb sticks are formatted to FAT32 but they all have there name embedded in the title - this is why you should format them before use to get rid of the name - if you are transferring data from a Linux to Windows to MAC then most likely want to format them to exFAT since all three operating systems can use exFAT

Theres not a lot to say about a flash drive as long as it works. Well, in this case I had one of them NOT work. Both a Windows and a Linux computer had issues with the drive. I thought formatting it and starting fresh might help even though it was brand new, but when I pulled it out of the USB port, it was very hot and I decided, better toss it in the trash and try a different cheap brand next time. The others are still working fine.

I used it for pictures to give to friends. It was only $@ each.

Three out of the five memory sticks were not recognized by my computer. The other two had some issues. I would transfer things over and then the USB mass storage option would disappear. I had to remove and replace the stick several times and then my computer picked up that the stick was plugged in. It isnt my computer because I use memory sticks all the time of all sizes and brands and it immediately picks up that I plugged one in and I have no issues. I did get one to work and filled it with photos. I am not confident that I will be able to retrieve the photos though. I should have sent this pack back but I took too long to test them and realize they were not working well.

I bought these to use for sending tax files to preparer (who can then keep them), for bringing my teaching files back and forth from university, and for transfer of files from an old and new computer. All 5 of the ones I received worked fine. I dont know if I would use them for important longer term backup duty - but for this price and the way they have worked so far - if you want a way to give files to someone and not have to remind them to give it back, or want temporary portable storage where you wont feel that bad if you lose them or they break, then I think these are great.

This flash memory works good and I like also the fact with the color pack helps you to identify them quickly.
