The threads are wrapped around the center in a weird criss-cross pattern that makes it really hard to unwind within constantly managing it. Id like to see the thickness increase a little more too. If you took this into a shower a few times itll tear apart promptly. Lots of fuzz and just not the quality Im expecting. On the plus side, I didnt break the bank but Ill have to buy something different next time.

The thread is pretty good, a nice assortment of colors. Quite a lot of them werent just one long piece, they were two knotted together, which is really frustrating because I end up with a piece that is too short. Some of them were glued into the paper wrap so taking them out tore up the thread. They werent bad, especially since Im really just using them to practice with, just frustrating that they werent all in great condition.

All the colors were all one piece until I came to this orange line. It is tied together in two places.

I think the thread itself is good quality but I didnt receive the floss bobbins. I ordered this two times and the first time nothing was wrong, but like I said the second time I didnt receive the floss bobbins, so Im bummed about that.

I am a dedicated DMC floss kind of girl for embroidery. I wanted a less expensive floss for some other projects. At 14 cents per skein this fit the bill. I was actually looking for a floss with less of a sheen to it but it’s hard to tell from pictures. I was surprised when I opened the package to find DMC look-alikes! I’ll definitely use these but I’ll have to keep looking for a set of duller skeins. I received exactly what was advertised; 50 skeins, 12 plastic bobbins, and one needle-threader. All packaged in a bag in a flat box (pictured). I didn’t find any knots or cut threads. Ive included pictures of a similar yellow DMC side-by-side with the Similane yellow. It’s very hard to tell the difference between them. The individual DMC strands are wound a little tighter and they feel different. DMC is cotton, Similane is polyester. But really it’s astonishing how much alike they are. So if you’re looking for a less expensive version of DMC you’ve found it.

Not nearly as good as the name brand.
