> 24 hourI asked for and received this umbrella as a Christmas gift and intend to use it while hiking. Its large enough to cover my head & shoulders and my Osprey Exos 58 backpack. I like that it will provide both sun and rain protection. Im using it with the straps that attach to my backpack shoulder straps and I find this umbrella very light and comfortable.

Hi There
> 24 hourThis is a great lightweight umbrella to shield me from the sun. It collapses like a normal, full size umbrella but into a much thinner profile. It is easy to get back into it’s case and the carry strap is useful. In Florida, I use it when sitting out at the pool to guarantee I have shade even if all the tables with umbrellas are taken. At my cabin up North I use it when sitting on the dock enjoying nature. It would also be perfect to take to an outdoor concert. I do not know how it would function in rain, but that is not it’s purpose. I have 2 of these and I recommend them.

> 24 hourI carry this umbrella in my large (40 liter) daypack in the event I need shelter from the sun or the rain when I am out clearing trails. The umbrella slips into the exterior pocket along with my 18-inch hand saw. In this position the end of the umbrella is about head high. With an overall length of 25 inches this is not a small package. But since the shaft is a single piece the assembly is more robust than a design made from telescoping tubes. The umbrella is also a bit on the heavy side but in exchange you get a durable mechanisim that should provide years of trouble free service. With a diameter of 38 inches the umbrella provides very good coverage for a single person, limited for two. The coverage is enhanced by the ability of the user to nest their head up under the fabric. This is enabled by the high position of the trusses that support the fabric. I use this umbrella in a rough environment both in terms of hazard for the umbrella and in the weather I encounter. I find the umbrella to be a much better product than what I have used previously (many) and highly recommend it for the proper person and use. It is not light weight and it is not a small package, but if you can accept those conditions it is a very nice umbrella. I will be purchasing a second one.

> 24 hourI can’t attest to the sturdiness yet, as I have not used it in windy conditions...yet. But so far it does exactly what I need out to do. Protects from rain and sun without weighing me down on the trail.

> 24 hourWhat a wonderful product. Lightweight and built really well. I like it because you dont need to press any clumsy buttons to open it. Because of the design it can easily be attached to my backpack and I will definitely try it on my next hike

> 24 hourI paid extra to get a European-built product, but it made in China by a German company. Very disappointed about that.
