I had this mailed to me and set it all up for dad. Then I shipped it to him in the nursing home back east. He has NO access to, or knowledge of the internet. It changed his life. He is in another state and now he gets dressed up every day and just loves seeing Mom! We put photos on it from our place and he just loves his new “machine” ! He looks and acts different just for seeing people he hasn’t seen since he went into nursing care. Fantastic!

Any review less than a rating of 4.5 to 4.6 is just not realistic. This is an amazing little device. I have the larger size in my kitchen, the smaller device in my office and bought my family members Mini Portals to try them out. The picture quality is incredible and while built in Alexa is not quite as rich, the promise of great screen, great camera, very good speaker and microphone, along with Companion Portal Application on Phone, makes for a very compelling Multi-Person Audio Visual experience and electronic picture carousel. I also use it to browse websites, listen to NPR, Listen to Amazon Music, Pandora, read my Kindle books on it when I get bored on work related calls. Oh, and I call straight to the portal when Im on my way home through the portal app on the phone, and I get a portal view of wife and kids in the kitchen doing their thing while Im stuck in traffic. I like what Facebook has done here. I am hoping for some improvements in Alexa commands but otherwise, I dont know what else to ask for other than more people using Portals because it is that good, nice to talk to people on the Portal.

Stopped working after 3 months, screen will not come on. Now Im wondering am I stuck with this one and will the other 2 do the same ?? Cant find any information anywhere.
