> 24 hourHonestly I was on the fence about buying these things because Ive never upgraded a console before but was quick and easy and finally have enough storage to download some more games without moving stuff around or deleting stuff. So far so good!

> 24 hourEasy install and the write speeds are quick. Plays/boots games just as fast as the consoles internal hard drive. Also 4tb gives you more than enough room for large playstation titles.

> 24 hourSo far this drive is fast and reliable. I didn’t put it in a PS5 but rather my laptop. I can actually see a speed difference.

> 24 hourThe product comprised a cool 2TB very slim 2.5 Seagate HDD, metal housing with connection tray for re-using the old HDD removed from the PS4, SATA connection cable, an 8GB USB drive, and a mini Phillips head screw driver. There is also a set of instructions on how to replace the 2TB drive into the PS4. Please read the instructions carefully, and several times to make that the correct files are backed up in the USB drive so that one can get back all the game data when the game apps are re-installed in the new 2TB drive, or you will have to start all over again in your game journey. Here are so me things to take note of which were not covered in the instructions: 1. The drive housing in the PS4 is made for the slightly thicker Samsung 2.5 drive. The thickness is caused by the larger damped top cover of the Samsung drive, although it is technically the same form factor as the replacement Seagate drive. So when you replace with the Seagate 2 TB with the slimmer profile, you do have to align the four screw holes in place with the housing while attaching the screws. In the end, you will see a slight gap between the installed Seagate drive and the base of the housing. That is OK. Being properly aligned with the housings screw holes is critical to get the drive to slot in properly to the PS4 drive interface. 2. Not so happy with the teeny tiny screw driver provided in the kit because it has a small handle that does not handle well or exert sufficient torque to undo the main central screw in the pS4. I ended up using my own Torx head screw driver. This is the reason why I gave the product 4 instead of 5 stars.

> 24 hourReplacing the hard drive wasnt a hard task to complete, you slide the left cover off (thats on the top left when playstatiyion is laying flat on upright). What you will need to do when the new drive is installed is go to playstation.com and find the software download and install it on a USB drive it is something like ps4update.pup. Then plug in the USB into the blue 3.0 usb port,, you turn the playstation on and put it into safe mode. You hold the power button down and release it when you here 2 beeps. Once its in safemode, you will select option 6 or 7. And then the software will begin to transfer. Now you will need to back up your saved data before you attempt this, this will wipe the playstation. You will be able to use the same usb for this. After all this, 2 or 3 hours later lol you will now be able to enjoy a larger hard drive. Now is all this work worth it, if you dont want to fool with an external hard drive, with connecting it and proper disconnecting it from the playstation then yes. This product is priced right and it does come with directions thats clear and precise. I highly recommend this product, Ive had this installed for some time now and havent had the first issue with it. If any questions please connect, I dont mind the questions.

> 24 hourPretty pleased. Stuff like this always makes me nervous (Im a bit of a Luddite), but instructions were easy to follow and every step was clear. It took about 25 minutes hands on time. One oddness; you cant import your saved game data onto your new drive unless the game is installed there, so you need to re download and/or disc install every program you want to import the saved game data from. Logistically, this was easy; all content Id purchased was saved in my user library, so once I set up the new drive and signed in to my Sony account it only took a couple of clicks. As you can imagine though, the downloads themselves were time consuming. Mine took about eight hours downloading in sleep mode so I let it run overnight. One minor nit with the kit itself: two of the screws securing my original PS4 drive were over-tightened, and the head of the screw driver included in the kit stripped when I tried removing them. Its a pretty cheap one time-use thing I guess. Luckily, I had a higher quality phillips head of the right size among my tools and it worked easily. Ill echo other reviewers - its important you get the correct PS4 PUP update file from the SONY website to put on the flash drive. As of 11/26/16, you need to scroll down through a lot of options before the right one shows up; its a good ways down the page. Im keeping the old drive in current state case theres a problem (the kit includes an aluminum casing to convert it to an external portable drive), but looks like everything is up and running.
